Move-In, Week of Welcome, and the start of the fall semester are only a few short weeks away! To facilitate a spirited welcome and smooth move-in process, we are inviting student organizations, athletic teams, departments, and others to assist residents on August 11-14. Volunteering during Move-In is a great way to help residents get settled quickly and happily while also increasing your organization’s campus presence.
Use the Great Move-In Sign-Up to register your organization. Please be thoughtful about the number of slots that you are signing up for – it would be better for us to have too many volunteers than to have less than expected.

On August 3rd, the Center for Innovation in Teaching & Learning (CITL) will implement an updated navigation bar and new features to iLearn(Brightspace) to improve the overall experience for students and faculty. The navigation bar will be updated to reflect the most commonly visited tools and to make the bar more accessible for screen readers. We are also adding new tools to the course homepage to better inform students of their progress in their courses and to make it easier to view important course announcements.

Join the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning for our next workshop session on Tuesday, July 26th at 11 AM. The end of the semester is the time to prepare iLearn courses for copying components to the next semester’s courses. This process involves updating Master iLearn courses, as well as cleaning up existing semester courses. In this session, we will discuss the exact procedures for adding, deleting, and modifying content topics, quizzes, assignments, discussions, and other iLearn components. The process of copying, exporting, and importing entire courses and between semesters is also explained in detail. Lastly, we will elaborate on the steps for selecting specific items to be copied as well as how to manage or offset start, end, and due dates. In accordance with State of Tennessee House Bill 1578, Tennessee Tech University made the following addition to TTU Policy 617 – Family, Medical, and Service Member Leave, Section IV., E., 3.
A Tennessee Tech employee who is a veteran with a service-connected disability of thirty percent (30%) or more receives thirty-six (36) hours of leave each year that can be used to attend appointments related to the service-connected disability. However, no unused leave remaining at the end of the year may not be carried to the subsequent year.
