For Fall 2022, tutors are needed to assist Math 1710 students with their assignments and test reviews in the Math Emporium, Clement 313C. The job classification for this position is student assistant 2 with a pay range of $8.25 to $12.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. The essential duties of this position are:
Minimum qualifications are to have completed Math 1910 with at least a C or better. Preferred qualifications include prior tutoring or teaching experience, knowledge of Pearson MyLab, and/or Math credits beyond Math 1910.
Please know this position does require a close proximity to other students throughout the day.
The Math Emporium will be open from 1 pm until 6 pm Monday through Thursday and 1 pm until 3 pm on Friday.

The Department of Biology is proud to announce that Xavier Jackson, a Wildlife and Fisheries Science major, won second place for his poster presentation at the Global Amphibian and Reptile Disease (GARD) Conference in Knoxville, TN. The goal of GARD 2022, according to the conference website, was “to bring together scientists from across the globe to discuss various amphibian and reptile diseases, organize facilitated discussions on…host-pathogen systems, and identify disease management strategies that can be used to ensure the conservation of herpetofauna species for generations to come.” Xavier’s presentation focused on a student-led surveillance project for the salamander-eating fungus Batrachochytrium salamandrivorans, which he and other Tennessee Tech students conducted in Fall 2021 with Aubree Hill, Ph.D. The international GARD conference was co-sponsored by the Center for the Management, Utilization and Protection of Water Resources (Water Center) at TTU, The University of Tennessee, The National Science Foundation, The U.S. Geological Survey, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and many other organizations around the world.

The state’s prescription drug coverage provides free tobacco quit aids to members who want to stop using tobacco products.
The following quit aids are FREE under the pharmacy benefit:
• Chantix and its generic, Varenicline
• Bupropion (generic Zyban)
• Over-the-counter generic nicotine replacement products, including gum, patches and lozenges
• Nicotrol oral and nasal inhalers
Members may receive up to two, 12-week courses of treatment per calendar year (up to 168 days of treatment) with no lifetime maximum.
For members to obtain over-the-counter products at no cost, a prescription from their doctor is required.
Quit aid prescriptions for 30-day supplies can be filled at participating network pharmacies, while 90-day supplies can be obtained at participating 90-day retail pharmacies or through Caremark mail order.

Join the Tennessee Tech Minecraft Server!
We are a group of Tech students joined under a common interest of playing Minecraft. The server IP is ttumc.tech, but the server is whitelisted so you need to join our Discord at discord.ttumc.tech
The server runs on a plugin that is coded by Tech students and the server supports both Bedrock and Java Edition cross-play. The game mode is survival multiplayer or SMP and we do not allow griefing or theft.
