    Fall 2021 Friday Cafe

    Friday Café is the hands-on learning experience for foods and nutrition students in Human Ecology. Friday Café will serve six meals for fall semester. Dates will be Sept 17, Sept 24, Oct 1, Oct 8, Oct 22 and Oct 29. Menus are posted on Marketplace and on the Human Ecology Friday Café webpage. This fall semester students will utilize vegetables grown at Shipley Farm. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, meals will be a carryout option only. If COVID restrictions change and we are able to move meals to the dining room, an update will be provided.  There will be three time pick-up options each week (11:45 am, 12:00 pm, and 12:15 pm) with a limit of 12 meals for each time slot. Meals will be available for pickup inside the front door of Oakley Hall. Meal purchase is made through Marketplace by making prepayment by noon on Wednesday. Meal cost will be $8.50. We are unable to process refunds at this time. A portion of the increase will be used to provide free Friday Café meals to students who utilize the Food Pantry this semester. Contact the Human Ecology office at 372-3157 with any questions.

    All Ladies in Civil Engineering (ALICE) will be hosting a Back-to-School Breakfast Night on Tuesday, Sept. 21, at 6:00 pm in PRSC 215. All ladies who are majoring in Civil Engineering or who would like to major in Civil Engineering are welcome to attend. There will be free coffee and bagels from Einstein Bros Bagels. Stop by to learn about this new group and have a fun time with fellow civil engineering majors!

    Join us on September 13 for our next CAFÉ Conversations session in the Diversity & Inclusion Series and meet the Center Directors for the Women’s Center and Office of International Education. The Directors will provide an overview of each area and the current resources and activities that promote success for diverse student populations. The conversation will also serve as an opportunity to engage with faculty on how they can partner with each Center to improve inclusive teaching efforts and promote student success.

    Coffee, tea, water, and individual snacks will be provided.

    Tech Men’s Soccer Club Takes on Vanderbilt at Home

    Come support the Tennessee Tech Men’s Soccer Club as they take on Vanderbilt at home this Sunday (08/12)! Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30PM at the Putnam County Sports Complex (497 Whiteaker Springs Rd, Cookeville)!

    TTUMSC is undefeated so far after picking up wins against Murray State and WKU and look to continue building on their win streak against Vanderbilt University in their biggest test of the year.

    Parlez-vous français? French Conversation Hour on Monday, September 13

    Come and practice your French on Monday, September 13, from 6-7 pm at Au Bon Pain in the library.  Organized and run by students, French Conversation Hour is open to all speakers of French, regardless of level, and uses games and activities to help everyone get involved.  The atmosphere is fun, laid-back, and designed to help you feel as comfortable as possible speaking French.

    Gold Career Readiness Workshop on Sept. 9: Writing my First Resume

    Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Sept. 9, beginning at 11 a.m. in Clement Hall 212 for the first Gold Career Readiness Workshop of the semester! A staff member from the Center for Career Development will be describing the characteristics of a strong, foundational resume.

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Gold Career Readiness Certificate for freshman and sophomore students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

    To attend virtually, access the TEAMS link in Handshake Events. To receive credit for attending, you must log in with your Tennessee Tech email, participate if asked to during the workshop and be present for at least 80% of the presentation, and make sure that your camera is turned on during your attendance.
