Thursday, Jan 27, at 11:00 – Representatives from Cornerstone Government Affairs Group will be giving a presentation on the Federal Appropriation Process in the Derryberry Hall Auditorium. The event is open to all.

This teaching award recognizes outstanding teaching in general education courses—1000- and 2000-level courses that fulfill general education requirements in Communication, History, Humanities/Fine Arts, Math, Natural Sciences, and Social/Behavioral Sciences. Eligible nominees are currently full-time or part-time faculty members, instructors, or graduate teaching assistants who have taught general education courses at Tech for at least the past two full semesters. Each nominee will be contacted to submit additional application material. Both of the two winners will receive a cash award and a plaque. Any student, faculty member, administrator, or recent graduate may nominate an outstanding teacher of general-education courses by submitting a letter of nomination that must be received by Thursday, February 24, 2022, in print or via email, and addressed to: Lori Maxwell, Chair, General Education Awards Committee; lmmaxwell@tntech.edu; Campus Box 5052.

Are you interested in Co-op? Need to find out how YOU can be Co-op eligible? Attend this Co-op Meetup on Thursday, Jan. 20, in Clement Hall 212 at 11 a.m. Any student interested in accepting a Cooperative Education position with an employer MUST attend a Co-op Meetup.
The Co-op Meetup will explain the eligibility guidelines for enrolling in the Cooperative Education Program, which went into effect July 1, 2019 for all students. Pre-registration to enroll in the Co-op Program is now required and attending a Co-op Meetup is your first step! Starting in March, every Wednesday at 11am, come join the Counseling Center for a mid-week mindful, relaxing, quiet moment on the Quad to help give you a reset. Rain or shine we will turn our focus off of school for a moment and focus on things we often overlook.

Help us in serving our Tech and local communities by volunteering this week and next week in our Days of Service in honor of the legacy of Dr. King! Join Multicultural Affairs, Service Learning and the Commission on the Status of Blacks (CSB) on Friday, Jan. 21st or Jan. 28th to help restock our Food Pantries and to provide books to our local Head Start Program. On Jan. 21st, we will shop for the pantry and restock the 2 campus locations. On Jan. 28th, we will sort books and pack boxes to take to the local Head Start locations. Times for volunteering are 10 am – 2 pm each Friday.
