Gold Career Readiness Workshop on September 8: Writing My First Resume
Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, September 8, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for the first Gold Career Readiness Workshop of the semester! Alex Callis, Assistant Director, from the Center for Career Development will be describing the qualities of a strong, foundational resume.
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Gold Career Readiness Certificate for freshman and sophomore students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

Employees can present their Eagle Card/ID Card at the Athletics Ticket Office in the Eblen Center on or before September 9 to pick up their tickets. The Athletics Ticket Office is open 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
On September 10 (game day), employees can present their Eagle Card/ID at any Tucker Stadium ticket booth to get tickets. Each employee will be permitted to get the number of complimentary tickets in their immediate family.

QPR Training
Have you ever wished you could feel more confident in knowing how to support someone who might be at risk of suicide? Come join us on Sept. 15 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. in the RUC Tech Pride Room and become QPR certified. You will learn how to recognize and respond to those at risk of suicide, how to offer hope, and how to connect to the appropriate resources and save a life.

MBA Student Accepts Graduate Assistant Position with Rural Reimagined
Rural Reimagined (RR) is excited to announce and welcome its newest graduate assistant, Ellie Buckner, for the Fall 2022 semester. Ellie is a TN Tech graduate student pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). She previously worked with Rural Reimagined as an academic intern and recently accepted a Graduate Assistantship (GA) position. She will help lead the Rural Reimagined communicative efforts and manage the Professional and Technical Communication (PTC) interns. Regarding her internship, Ellie says, “I am in a unique position in which I can help people from all different walks of life grow their businesses. Being born and raised in Cookeville, the businesses, the community, and the people here have a special place in my heart. I am thankful to have the opportunity to continue this work with Rural Reimagined in a new capacity.” Thank you, Ellie, for all your hard work! Wings up!

September Book Club Meeting: The Hurting Kind
Join the Women’s Center for our first book club meeting of the semester from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, Sep 6th, in the Women’s Center office (RUC 339). Dr. Erin Hoover, professor in the English Department’s Creative Writing program, is leading a special series of women’s poetry for our book club this semester.
