Faculty Research Committee Announces Call for Proposals
The Faculty Research Committee is soliciting proposals for funding for FY 2024-25.
The deadline to submit proposals and all required application materials to the Office of Research is Feb. 21, 2025. Materials may be submitted electronically via email to jdicey@tntech.edu or hand delivered to Derryberry Hall, Room 305. Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Mateo Cacheiro, TTU Physics
This week’s Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar will be given by physics major Mateo Cacheiro. Mateo’s interest is in physics education, and he has been collaborating on the development of a tool to help physics majors reflect on career goals and physics departments better support their majors in the career decision-making process. In his talk Developing an online tool to collect causal maps of students’ subfield interest formation, Mateo will describe this tool, its development, and show results from its use. The seminar will be this Friday at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210, with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!
