Fourteen Psychology Students Present their Original Research in Denver
Fourteen undergraduate psychology students traveled with Dr. Nicole Henniger and Dr. Matthew J. Zagumny to the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) Annual Convention in Denver February 20-22, 2025. The students presented their studies on topics including existentialism, aging anxiety, early life stress and perfectionism, jealousy, empathy, parental marital satisfaction, envy on social media, vicarious trauma, and caregivers’ use of self-defeating humor. Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar
This Friday’s seminar will feature Cordell Griggs (TTU Physics), Emma Krebs (TTU Physics/Mathematics), and Jack Seger (TTU Physics/Mathematics) who will each describe some of their recent research work. Titles and abstracts for the presentations can be found here. The seminar will be at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210 with snacks served starting at 3:30pm. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are encouraged to attend!

Applications for the Scholastic Research Awards Now Being Accepted
The Scholastic Research Award, presented by the University Research Advisory Committee, is a university-wide award for a single, significant and innovative work produced, published, performed or exhibited from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2024. Two awards, of $1,500 each, are available each year, with one reserved for tenure-track faculty and the other reserved for tenured faculty. Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Dr. Mohammadreza Zakeri, EKU
The first Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar of the semester will be this Friday at 4pm in Bruner Hall 210. (Snacks will be served starting at 3:30pm.) The speaker will be Dr. Mohammadreza Zakeri from Eastern Kentucky University. In his talk Pulsars as Laboratories for Fundamental Physics, Dr. Zakeri will show how the search for new physical laws isn’t confined simply to terrestrial laboratories, but precision tests are also possible via astrophysical observation of exotic objects. These seminars are geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!
