Apply for Next Year’s Scholarships by December 15
The general scholarship application for the 2024-2025 academic year is available now through Friday, Dec. 15, 2023. All students must complete this application in order to be eligible for over 700 Tennessee Tech scholarships for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 terms.
If you have a renewable departmental scholarship, you have to re-apply every year in order for that scholarship to be renewed!
To apply, log into Tech Express account and click on the diamond “ScholrWeb” icon in the QuickLinks area. For additional assistance and information, please visit the Scholarship Office website.

Scholarship Application for 2024-2025 Now Open
The general TN Tech Scholarship Application for the 2024-2025 academic year is available now through Friday, Dec. 15, 2023. All students must complete this application in order to be eligible for Tennessee Tech scholarships in the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 terms. Due to the wide variety of scholarships available, it is in every student’s best interest to complete their scholarship application every year.
The Scholarship Office encourages campus offices and departments to help remind students to apply for scholarships. Please print and/or distribute the 2024-2025 Scholarship Application Flier in your area as needed. Digital signs should become available to digital sign managers soon. Students can be directed to www.tntech.edu/scholarships/apply for instructions.

General Complaint Reporting
In addition to the Fraud, Waste, or Abuse reporting form, Tennessee Tech also has a form on Internal Audit’s website for confidentially reporting complaints about accounting, internal control, auditing matters, code of conduct, discrimination/harassment/retaliation, and other issues that are NOT fraud, waste, or abuse. Complainants remain COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS to Internal Audit unless the last section of the form is completed. General complaints received on this form are routed to appropriate campus departments for follow-up.
The form can be submitted online or completed, printed, and mailed to Internal Audit, PO Box 5154, Cookeville, TN 38505.

Congratulations to Dr. Seiler and Dr. Ramsey on their $1.85 million grant award
The College of Arts and Sciences is thrilled to announce that The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded a five-year, $1.8 million grant to Dr. Steven Seiler (Sociology) and Dr. Elizabeth Ramsey (Human Ecology). This grant will fund the creation of the Tennessee Tech Center for Addiction Prevention, Research, and Support!
According to Dr. Seiler, “This grant presents opportunities to strengthen partnerships, establish new relationships with more community partners, and, ultimately, for work together to reduce substance misuse in our community and support those living in recovery.”
The three pillars of the project* are prevention, research, and support. Prevention includes ramping up prevention efforts among emerging adults through the Coalition both at Tennessee Tech and within the Putnam County community. The central goal of research is to help coalitions in the Upper Cumberland with anything and everything related to assessment and evaluation and to help our Upper Cumberland coalitions who are seeking or hoping to pursue prevention-related grants with building and/or strengthening their applications. Support will focus on (re)building a collegiate recovery program at Tech for students in recovery along with assisting organizations in the community with their support efforts.
Congratulations Dr. Seiler and Dr. Ramsey on putting Tennessee Tech students and surrounding communities first with your laudable efforts and goals! Wings Up!

The Math Emporium Needs Math 1710 Tutors for Fall 2023
For Fall 2023, tutors are needed to assist Math 1710 students with their assignments and test reviews in the Math Emporium, Clement 313C. The job classification for this position is student assistant 2 with a pay of $10 per hour. The essential duties of this position are:

- Be on call in the Math Emporium according to your assigned schedule.

- Assist Math 1710 students with assignments, either from the textbook or on Pearson MyLab, and when reviewing for an exam.

- Record attendance/usage of the Math Emporium.
Clean workstation/study area after each use.
Minimum qualifications are to have completed Math 1910 with at least a C or better. Preferred qualifications include prior tutoring or teaching experience, knowledge of Pearson MyLab, and/or Math credits beyond Math 1910.
Please know this position does require a close proximity to other students throughout the day.
The Math Emporium will be open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. as well as Thursday from 10:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
