    Nominations for the 2025 Derryberry Award due March 14

    The 2025 Derryberry Award nomination deadline is Friday, March 14. This award was established in honor of the late Everett Derryberry after 34 years as president of Tennessee Tech. This prestigious honor grants a plaque and cash award to a graduating senior who demonstrates a high level of scholastic achievement and successful campus involvement in leadership and enrichment opportunities.     Student Affairs Student Spotlight – Madison Kibbe

    Meet Madison, our March Student Affairs Student Spotlight! Originally from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, Madison is a senior at Tennessee Tech University majoring in Environmental & Sustainability Studies. She has dedicated herself to service, from building homes in Sneedville, TN, to distributing medication in El Magueyal, El Salvador. Madison is actively involved in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and Servants of Christ (SOC), supporting women in STEM and engaging in faith-based community service. Her volunteer efforts extend beyond campus, including disaster relief, preparing meals for veterans and widows, and working with nonprofits supporting vulnerable communities.

    The SOLO Events Committee is seeking donations of gently used formalwear (i.e. suiting and gowns) for their Spring Masquerade Ball. Kenneth Clack, President of the SOLO Events Committee, describes the gala as “allowing students from all backgrounds to enjoy a night of celebration – boosting confidence and creating a sense of belonging.”

    Donations will be accepted through Friday, Mar. 7th. Donations may be made via labeled boxes by the RUC Information Desk and outside of the Intercultural Lounge/Multipurpose Room. For questions, please e-mail InterculturalAffairs@tntech.edu.

    The CITL now offers two mid semester instructional diagnostics: Small Group Instructional Diagnostic (SGID) and Mid-Point Instructional Diagnostic (MID). Both provide straightforward evaluations using student feedback to help faculty improve their courses before the semester ends.     Step Up! Bystander Intervention Training

    The Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness will be hosting a bystander intervention training workshop on Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 11am-12 noon in RUC 387 Eagle Resource Room. The training will be focused on the Step Up! Model of raising awareness on how to help others when responding to problems or concerns.
