    Project Green Challenge—October 1-30!

    We encourage all TN Tech students, faculty, and staff to participate in the 2021 Project Green Challenge (PGC) from October 1-30. This is a global movement that features 30 days of environmental challenges for individuals to participate in for free!

    “Each day during the month of October, a uniquely themed challenge will be delivered to registered PGC participants by email at 6 am Pacific Time. Each challenge will be live for 24 hours inviting participants to complete actions and upload deliverables to acquire points. Deliverables include photos, videos, and text uploaded on the PGC site… Awesome ethical prize packages will be awarded daily for outstanding submissions.”

  • Tennessee Legislative Internship

    Would you like the opportunity to intern at the Tennessee General Assembly in Nashville full time during the Spring 2022 semester, to experience the state legislative process hands on, to gain valuable expertise in state government, and to build relationships with state leaders, all while earning 12 hours of academic credit?     Community Success Story: Eagle Works Report and Info Session

    The TN Tech Eagle Works Innovation and Entrepreneurship encourages and supports innovation and integration of entrepreneurship at Tennessee Tech University. These workshops and competitions give students the tools for starting their own businesses someday, developing new products or services, improving their leadership and communication skills, thinking creatively, and having the potential to be awarded scholarships. Last year alone, there was over $10,000 in donor-funded scholarships awarded. Join us Wednesday, September 29 at 5 PM in the iMakerspace on the third floor of Volpe Library to learn all about Eagles works and the different workshops and events throughout the year, how you can win money, and gain valuable skills. Everyone who attends will get a free T-shirt! Please contact Andrea Kruszka at akruszka@tntech.edu if you have questions or need accessible entry to the event. Wings up!

    The TN Tech Counseling Center will be offering a time of support and debrief for those students affected by the recent Waverly floods, other natural disasters, or recent trauma on Friday, October 8 from 9:00am-12noon in the Eagle Resource Room (adjacent to the counseling center).   • Gold Career Readiness Workshop on Sept. 28: Interview Tips for Internships

    Join the Center for Career Development on Tuesday, Sept. 28, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for this Gold Career Readiness Workshop. A staff member from the Center for Career Development will guide you through the top tips to have a successful interview!

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Gold Career Readiness Certificate for freshman and sophomore students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

    To attend virtually, access the TEAMS link in Handshake Events. To receive credit for attending, you must log in with your Tennessee Tech email, participate if asked to during the workshop and be present for at least 80% of the presentation, and make sure that your camera is turned on during your attendance.

  • University Orchestra

    University Orchestra

    The University Orchestra will perform its first concert of the fall semester on Tuesday evening, September 28 at 7:30pm, in Wattenbarger auditorium at the Bryan Fine Arts Center. The concert will feature works by Leroy Anderson, Antonin Dvorak, Franz Schubert and Ludwig Beethoven. “We are so pleased to be rehearsing with full orchestra again. The first concert of the semester is a quick introduction to orchestral playing for many in our orchestra, and these short stylistic works are audience favorites as well” says conductor Dan Allcott.

    The University Orchestra is an all-student ensemble comprised of music majors, and students from the general campus population. Students with orchestral instrument experience are encouraged to become a part of the orchestra and can contact Prof. Allcott at : dallcott@tntech.edu

    Join us in our first seminar in the Fall 2021 seminar series on MONDAY, September 27 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 PM (CDT) in BRUN410. William Johnson, a Computer Science PH.D.  student, will be talking about “Embedded systems that make up the Internet of Things (IoT), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) networks, and Smart Grid applications are coming under increasing scrutiny in the security field.” Free Food will be provided!!
