    French Conversation hour for beginners on February 10

    Beginners’ French Conversation Hour will meet on Thursday, February 10, from 11-11:45 in Oakley 214.  This is a great chance to practice what you’ve learned in class in a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere.  This conversation hour is hosted by students, not professors.

  • Professional and Technical Communications Club Logo Contest

    The Tennessee Tech Professional and Technical Communications Club will be hosting a competition to see who can create the best logo. Anyone of any major is able to participate, and a prize will be awarded to the creator of the chosen logo. Participants can find the guidelines for the competition on the social media page, found at https://www.instagram.com/tntechptc/. Please follow our Instagram, and watch there for posts regarding the logo competition. Once a winner is chosen, the logo will be posted on social media and will become the new profile picture for the club. Make a lasting impact on campus by creating a unique and new design for our club, and be rewarded at the same time. We look forward to seeing the designs, Wings Up!

  • Daily CSB Black History Month Trivia- Feb. 7th & 8th questions

    Every weekday in February the Commission on the Status of Blacks will be featuring a trivia question for students- each day’s correct answers will be entered into a daily drawing for a modest prize, with all daily winners entered into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the month.   • College of Business – Faculty & Staff Awards

    The Faculty Awards Program was established in 1975 by the College of Business Administration Foundation, now recognized as the College of Business Advisory Board, to recognize outstanding contributions to business education by the faculty of the College of Business at Tennessee Tech University. Over the next several years the faculty awards were broaden to include the addition of the Outstanding Staff Award and the Excellence in Service Award. All College of Business Faculty and Staff are invited to make nominations for the categories listed below. Students are not eligible to submit award nominations, but may provide letters of support.

    Selection of the award recipients will be made by the College of Business Advisory Board Award Selection Committee. The awards will be presented at the College of Business Faculty & Staff End of Year reception in the spring.

    Tennessee Tech Today – Episode 22

    In this program, Tech hosts and manages a website that is really a one stop shop for those interested in giving their time to organizations through volunteerism or service, or for those that need assistance. And it’s not just for students or staff.  Anyone can take advantage and get involved.

    The national signing day for college football took place recently.  Tech head football coach Dewayne Alexander signed 13 players to become Golden Eagles.  The coach will talk about how the landscape of recruiting has undergone a drastic change, with the addition of subjects like Name, Image and Likeness and the transfer portal, as well as the impact of Covid.

    Join the NTSO

    Tennessee Tech University has a student group you might be interested in joining, the Nontraditional Student Organization (NTSO). Researchers generally consider nontraditional students to have the following characteristics: being independent for financial aid purposes, having one or more dependents, being a single caregiver, not having a traditional high school diploma, delaying postsecondary enrollment, attending school part time, and being employed full time (U.S. Dept. of Education, 2017). 

    If you’d like to join us, email the President of NTSO, Michele Niec, mlniec42@tntech.edu, so you can be included in future emails regarding meetings, meet-ups, and NTSO activities. The first in-person meeting will be held Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at 11 a.m. in Henderson Hall Room 214. We will meet each month on the second Tuesday at the same time (11 a.m.) and the same place (HH 214). Additional virtual meetings and group get-togethers will be discussed at our first meeting of the semester.

    The Iris Review Open for Submissions

    The Iris Review, Tech’s literary magazine, is now accepting submissions until Feb. 28th! We welcome new or previously published authors, and submissions include prose, poetry, and art! Art submissions will be considered for the cover of the issue! If your work is chosen to be published, you will receive an invitation to the launch party at the end of April where you will receive a physical copy of the magazine. We encourage all Tech students, faculty, and alumni to submit!
