    We want to make sure students have the books they need to complete their courses.  Please announce to your classes that if students haven’t bought their textbooks, they should do so this week.

    We know there may be titles not assigned until later in the term or if you have a late starting class please let us know. We would like have them in stock and available for students to purchase.  We will begin returning textbooks February 9th.

    Purple Career Readiness Workshop on Feb. 3: Employer Panel: Great Impression

    Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Feb. 3, beginning at 11 a.m. in Stonecipher Lecture Hall, room 113 for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop. A staff member from the Center for Career Development will discuss how to impress a potential employer at the upcoming career fairs.

    This event is open to all students and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

  • Applications for Scholastic Research Award due by February 28

    The Scholastic Research Award, presented by the University Research Advisory Committee, is a university-wide award for a single, significant and innovative work produced, published, performed or exhibited from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2021. Two awards, of $1,500 each, are available each year, with one reserved for tenure-track faculty and the other reserved for tenured faculty. Applications must be submitted electronically in a single PDF to sstorie@tntech.edu on or before Feb. 28, 2022. For complete application requirements, please visit the Office of Research website, and select the section for the Scholastic Research Award.

  • Budget Office – February Training Sessions

    Budget Office training sessions for February have been scheduled if anyone is interested! Below is a brief description of each training:

    General Budget Training: This training gives a big picture overview of the university budget, Banner screens, and budget revisions. This training is required for signature authority on budget revisions.

    Budget Banner Screen Training: This training focuses specifically on the Banner screens frequently used for budgeting purposes. This is an optional training course.

    Budget Shadow System Training: This training focuses specifically on our Shadow System Template. This is an optional training course.

    Position Control Budget Training: This training focuses specifically on topics related to position control including new position set ups, personnel action forms, budget revisions for permanent positions, how to verify permanent position funding, lapsed salary, etc. This is an optional training course.

    Every weekday in February the Commission on the Status of Blacks will be featuring a trivia question for students- each day’s correct answers will be entered into a daily drawing for a modest prize, with all daily winners entered into a drawing for a grand prize at the end of the month.
