Rotaract Meeting on Thursday 10/6
Hey guys! The Tennessee Tech Rotaract Club is having a meeting on Thursday during dead hour in TJ Farr Room 203. We encourage everyone to come see us, as we are hoping to rebuild the club, as well as welcome some new faces to the school. So if you would like to improve your leadership skills, make some friends, or just come hang out for an hour, you are encouraged to come by! 2022 Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report
In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act, Tennessee Tech’s 2022 Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Report (ASR) is now available at https://www.tntech.edu/police/safety-report.php.
The ASR contains campus crime and fire statistics for the past three years in addition to general safety and security information such as procedures for responding to emergency situations, how to report sexual misconduct, and the dangers associated with drug and alcohol abuse.
A paper copy of the ASR is available upon request by contacting Tennessee Tech’s Office of Compliance, compliance@tntech.edu or 931-372-6005.

The 2021-2022 Wings Up 100 roster is an elite group of 36 Tech researchers who brought in at least $100,000 in external funding for their research and activities during 2021-2022.

The Professional Readiness and Leadership Center in the College of Business will be hosting its Explore Internship Seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 3:00 to 4:30 P.M. in Johnson Hall 220. This event is designed for students interested in starting the process of searching for internships. A free meal will provided to all guests. Get ready for the Eagle Works Maker Challenge Thursday 10/6!
You’re on a road trip and heading through the woods. There’s a river you have to cross, but the bridge has disappeared! You’ve got a pile of materials to work with to figure out a way to get across – can you do it?
Your problem for this year’s Maker Challenge won’t be that, but it’s an example of what you’ll need to do! We’ll start you off with sharing the scenario at 5:10. You’ll get some time while you eat (food provided!) to get into a team (interdisciplinary teams encouraged!) and get creative thinking about a solution. At 5:30 materials will be available to put together a mock-up of your idea, and you’ll have an hour to get that done before all teams present their creation for a chance at prizes in different categories!
We’ll have giveaways throughout the evening, and free t-shirts for everyone whose team presents.
Join us in the Tech Pride Room at 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 6!

Join Creative Writing Club!
The TTU Creative Writing Club meets the first Tuesday of each month in room 216A of Henderson Hall at 11 a.m. All majors are welcome. Our club encourages writers of fiction, poetry, and essays. Course Evaluation Information Session with IARE – October 14
Get the most out of your course evaluation reports. The Office of Institutional Assessment, Research, & Effectiveness (IARE) will be hosting a session on the University’s course evaluation process. This session will provide an overview of the evaluation tool known as IDEA and the role of instructors in selecting the Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) most appropriate for their courses. When instructors select the most relevant SLOs for their courses, course reports provide a better evaluation for what occurs in the classroom. Best practices will also be shared for garnering student participation and good response rates. Join us for this online training session on Friday, October 14th at 12PM.
