    Ice Age Explorers: Unearthing Earth’s Frozen Wonders!

    Let’s go on an exciting journey through time, discovering the wonders of glaciers, fossils, and prehistoric landscapes, while delving into STEM activities that focus on geology, paleontology, and climate science. This event is for PreK-3rd grades and will take place from 9:00am-12:00pm on Feb. 24 at the Oakley STEM Center (155 W 7th St, Cookeville, TN 38505).     English Professor Publishes Book on Local Conflict and Values Negotiation

    Dr. Kristin Pickering (kpickering@tntech.edu), who teaches Professional and Technical Communication within the English Department, has published Environmental Preservation and the Grey Cliffs Conflict: Negotiating Common Narratives, Values, and Ethos with Utah State University Press. The book profiles a conflict between a rural Tennessee community and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers involving “Grey Cliffs,” an environmentally damaged area dear to the community. With a focus on negotiating values, the book contains interviews with the Corps and community members, as well as recommendations for a variety of communicators seeking to resolve conflicts among diverse populations.
