    Do you have questions about the services and resources available to you from the Center for Career Development? Come see us on Wednesday, October 9th from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the RUC Lobby!

    Career Spots are pop-up tabling events held by Career Ambassadors in areas across campus! You can drop-in for a quick chat and gather all kinds of information about Handshake, how to find examples of resumes/cover letters, and upcoming events held like career fairs. With Career Spots, there isn’t a need for an appointment but bring your Eagle Card for attendance credit. Check Handshake to see all the upcoming dates!

    Open Foundry Night!

    Interested in learning more about the metal casting process? Good news, the Tennessee Tech Chapter of the American Foundry Society is hosting an open foundry night on Thursday, October 10 starting at 5:30pm. During this time, you will get the chance to see, and even participate in, the casting process as experienced personnel walk you through each step of making your own casting. Disclaimer: Only authorized personnel can pour the metals. Closed-toed leather shoes/boots are required. Pants are required (NO SWEATPANTS OR LEGGINGS). Safety glasses will be provided but it is highly recommended you bring your own in case of a shortage. Please direct any questions to afs@tntech.edu. We hope to see you all there. Have a great day!

Both sessions will take place in the Tech Pride Room, RUC room 101 and snacks will be provided.

    Evening of Excellence will honor 2024 Alumni Award winners Nov. 2

    On Nov. 2, the Tennessee Tech Alumni Association will recognize the 2024 alumni award recipients:

    Outstanding Young Alumna: Brittney Herman (`17 English)
    Outstanding Service: Randy Wilmore (`82 business management)
    Outstanding Philanthropy: Mary Anne Koltowich (`77 civil engineering)
    Distinguished Alumnus: Ashraf Islam (`68 civil engineering)

    The Evening of Excellence will be held on Homecoming at the Leslie Town Centre. Cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the program at 6:30 p.m. Regular tickets are $50 per person but we are offering special faculty and staff pricing for just $25 per person.     Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, October 3rd, at 11 a.m. in the Tech Pride Room located in the Roaden University Center for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop! Our knowledgeable staff will teach you how to successfully highlight your skills to have an employer-ready resume!

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card.

    Join the Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness for a mindfulness workshop on Tuesday, October 8, 11am, on the main quad (north side in front of Derryberry).  Together we’ll go over techniques and practices for you to utilize and help bring focus to the mind and grounding to the body!  All students, faculty, and staff are welcome!
