Did you accept a co-op position at the Engineering Fair last week or accept an internship requiring you to enroll in the Cooperative Education Program, such as the Disney College Program?

Do not miss your last opportunity to learn the process needed for enrollment and to ensure you are meeting all eligibility requirements.  All students entering the Cooperative Education Program must meet the eligibility requirements, prior to being enrolled by the Cooperative Education Office:

• Have a minimum overall 2.0 GPA (GPA must be maintained while participating in the program)

 

• Be in good academic standing

 

• Must have completed two grading cycles at the university

 

• Pre-registration will be required for students entering the program after July 1, 2019

 

• Must complete the Gold (freshman/sophomore) or Purple (junior/senior/gradate) Career Readiness Certification Program

 

• Complete a Co-op Orientation appointment through Career Development

 

• Maintain enrollment in the appropriate co-op course throughout the entire co-op assignment,

including summer semesters

Join the Peer Empowerment Program to talk about consent on Thursday, March 12 in TJ Farr 106 from 11-11:50! We’ll be watching the short video entitled “Tea and Consent” by Thames Valley Police. After the video, we will have a short discussion and Q&A. There will be two chances to see the video and be a part of the conversation- 11:10 and 11:35. Free food and drinks will be provided.

Do you want to raise money for the community’s homeless and play four square and compete for a prize? Then, join us next month, on Thursday April 2 from 3-5 pm at one of the Fit’s basketball courts and compete in our four square competition. The entrance fee is $5. The three top contestants will receive a $10 Chick fil-A gift card and the first-place winner will get a four square ball too. Ninety percent of funds gained from this fundraiser will go to the Cookeville Rescue Mission, which works to help our city’s homeless get back on their feet and stay on their feet.

Please be advised that the Whitson-Hester School of Nursing conference on dementia and Alzheimer’s is cancelled due to the tornado that affected our community. The plan is to offer the conference at a later date.

Join us for the Education Fair, co-sponsored by the Center for Career Development and the College of Education on Tuesday, Mar. 10, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Memorial Gym. Bring your resume and be prepared to discuss your career interests with employers. All majors are invited to participate to learn about career opportunities with school systems.

Students should come dressed to impress, bring plenty of resumes, and have their Eagle Card on hand to obtain a personalized name tag. This event counts toward Career Readiness Certification.

Career Fairs are a NO BACKPACK Zone. Please leave your backpack in your car or room.

Open to ALL students, ALL majors – freshman to alumni.

Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Mar. 12, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room (1st floor) for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop! Scott Christen, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Communication Studies, will be sharing how best to make a successful presentation.

This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.
