    Education Fair is Tuesday, Mar. 10 in Memorial Gym

    Join us for the Education Fair, co-sponsored by the Center for Career Development and the College of Education on Tuesday, Mar. 10, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Memorial Gym. Bring your resume and be prepared to discuss your career interests with employers. All majors are invited to participate to learn about career opportunities with school systems.

    Students should come dressed to impress, bring plenty of resumes, and have their Eagle Card on hand to obtain a personalized name tag. This event counts toward Career Readiness Certification.

    Career Fairs are a NO BACKPACK Zone. Please leave your backpack in your car or room.

    Open to ALL students, ALL majors – freshman to alumni.

  • Sports Analytics Information Meeting

    Interested in Sports Analytics? Do you like playing in fantasy sports leagues? Trying to figure out who to pick in your March Madness brackets? Fascinated by sports statistics? Tuesday March 10th at 11:00 in Johnson Hall, Room 401, we will be hosting an information session for any students and faculty that are interested in starting a group for learning about sports analytics, competing in sports analytics competitions, hearing from professionals in the field, doing research in sports analytics, and many other exciting things in the world of sports! Everyone is welcome – no experience needed!

    Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Mar. 12, beginning at 11:00 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Tech Pride Room (1st floor) for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop! Scott Christen, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Communication Studies, will be sharing how best to make a successful presentation.

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

    This conference will present the Whitson-Hester School of Nursing CMP grant “Improvement of Quality of Life for Nursing Home Residents through the ‘Music and Memory’ Program” implementation and results.  Attendees will also receive a presentation on ArtTherapy4LifeTM, presented by Deb Ferris (ArtTherapy4LifeTM information), bridging communication gaps between individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and their families.

    This conference is scheduled for March 6 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Whitson-Hester School of Nursing Auditorium (Bell Hall 282). Admission is free but registration is required. To register click on the link below.

    Reminder See Something, Say Something Conference on March 5

    This Whitson-Hester School of Nursing is hosting a conference that will educate attendees on identifying and addressing high risk and disturbing behaviors in the workplace. Attendees will learn to identify individuals at risk for violent outbursts that could lead to individual harm to self or others, as well as learn to demonstrate techniques to more safely address volatile situations.

    The conference will take place on March 5 from 6 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the Whitson-Hester School of Nursing Auditorium (Bell Hall 282). The cost is $50 person, which includes 2.0 CEUs, food, and refreshments. To register please click on the link below.

    Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Mar. 5, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Hooper Eblen Center for the Engineering Career Fair. Over 160 employers will be in attendance seeking students from all majors for co-op, internship, and full-time opportunities! All majors are invited to participate and discuss your career interests with employers.

    If you have not downloaded the Career Fair Plus app for your phone, now is the time to do this!  You can see all employers, filter based on the type position you are seeking PLUS see exactly where they are located on the fair map!
