Writer Tamara Winfrey-Harris’ presentation, “Serena: Superwoman as Every (black) woman”, digs into the way mainstream media depict black women to reveal common stereotypes and discusses the need to change the way black women are portrayed. This Center Stage event is cohosted by the Women’s Center with the Department of English’s Creative Writing program and Multicultural Affairs. Friday Focus: Textbook Affordability / Book Orders
Friday Focus sessions are designed to provide just-in-time resources and information for faculty throughout the semester. Each session focuses on diverse resources, tools, or programs available to support faculty and/or student success. This week’s session will be presented by faculty and staff from the Volpe Library and Auxiliary Services. Participants will leave the session with a better understanding of options to assist with textbook affordability and ways to make the book order process more seamless.

“Fueled to Fly” is a monthly initiative that was launched in 2016 in the Clay N. Hixson Student Success Center. We provide FREE donuts and coffee, while supplies last, and encourage students to come meet and mingle with other engineering students, familiarize themselves with the center and services we offer, and get prepared for a great day of learning.

Purple Career Readiness Workshop on Sept. 16: Top Ten Tips
Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, Sept. 16, beginning at 11 a.m. in Clement Hall 212 for this Purple Career Readiness Workshop. Russ Coughenour, the Director of the Center for Career Development, will share his top ten tips and advice on how to make the best impression possible at the approaching career fairs.
This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.

WTTU DJ training starts Tuesday, September 21 in RUC 369 at 11AM. Any student interested in starting a music or talk show is welcome to attend. Once training is complete, they will be eligible to start a show on 88.5 WTTU.

ALL Majors and ALL students (freshman to alumni) are invited to discuss career opportunities with over 80 employers!!! These opportunities include co-op, internship, and full-time positions!!

Students should come dressed to impress and have their Eagle Card to obtain a personalized name tag. This event counts toward Career Readiness Certification!
All participants will be expected to follow Campus Return to Tech Guidelines in regards to social distancing and face coverings.

2021 Fall Celebration Dinner – Save the Date!
Join the College of Business Dean’s Office on October 26, 2021, for the 2021 Fall Celebration Dinner which will be held at the Leslie Town Centre. A reception will be starting at 6:30 pm, and the actual dinner will be starting at 7 pm. The guest speaker this year is Doris Kearns Goodwin who is a world-renowned presidential historian, public speaker, and Pultizer Prize-winning, New York Times #1 best-selling author. Her seventh book, Leadership in Turbulent Times, was published in September 2018 to critical acclaim and became an instant New York Times bestseller.
