Join the Center for Career Development on Wednesday, Sept. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in The Hoop for the Engineering/STEM Fair. ALL Majors and ALL students (freshman to alumni) are invited to discuss career opportunities with over 80 employers!!! These opportunities include co-op, internship, and full-time positions!!

DO NOT forget to bring plenty of copies of their resume!

Students should come dressed to impress and have their Eagle Card to obtain a personalized name tag. This event counts toward Career Readiness Certification!

All participants will be expected to follow Campus Return to Tech Guidelines in regards to social distancing and face coverings.

Career Fairs are a NO BACKPACK ZONE, so please leave it in your car or room.

Join the College of Business Dean’s Office on October 26, 2021, for the 2021 Fall Celebration Dinner which will be held at the Leslie Town Centre. A reception will be starting at 6:30 pm, and the actual dinner will be starting at 7 pm. The guest speaker this year is Doris Kearns Goodwin who is a world-renowned presidential historian, public speaker, and Pultizer Prize-winning, New York Times #1 best-selling author. Her seventh book, Leadership in Turbulent Times, was published in September 2018 to critical acclaim and became an instant New York Times bestseller. Please join the Double Reeds of Tennessee Tech at Pelican’s Snoballs, Wednesday, September 15th from 4-8pm to celebrate the beginning of a new season and the creation of a new club! This is our very first community event, and we would absolutely love it if Tech students and faculty from all over campus would come and indulge in a snow-cone with us.

Live On The Plaza is back on Thursday, September 16th with returning favorite Jonathan Blanchard This free concert will be from 6:00PM – 8:00PM on Centennial Plaza. Jonathan Blanchard in the tradition of great soul singers, creates music that allows his deep, soulfully rich voice to blend naturally with the times.  He movingly conveys poignant words and melodies to evoke feelings of love respect, hard times, and revolt. His throwback, soul stirring style of singing creates such a strong vibe that is undeniable.

On Tuesday, September 14th join us in welcoming guest speaker Sara Lowery presenting a conversation on “Shining a Light on Mental Darkness”. As noted by the Center for Collegiate Mental Health, nearly 1 in 5 university students are affected by depression and anxiety. Sara Lowery was one of those students. In this personal keynote, Sara shares her story in hopes that students can learn how to reach out for support during those dark times and search for the light. Students will learn their intrinsic value and strategies to fighting through the feeling of disappointment, fear, and yes even loneliness. Sara will challenge students to really look around to not only find someone whom they can lean on, but also who might need help finding their mental light. This discussion will take place at 7PM in the Derryberry Hall Auditorium and is presented by the Student Government Association Mental Health Matters Initiative.

One World is all about introducing people and interacting with different cultures from around the world, ultimately to achieve understanding and harmony. To that end, please join members of One World on Tuesday, Sept. 14 from 6-7:30p.m. on Centennial Plaza for a sampling of international cuisines and world music. Free and open to all!
