    Volunteers Needed! 100 Acres of STEM Outreach Event 9/25/2021

    Volunteers are needed for a family outreach event on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 8:00 AM – 12:30 PM at the Oakley STEM Center.

    Volunteers will assist with hands-on STEM activities, event logistics, set up and tear down. The event is open to families and their children ranging from Pre-K to 3rd grade.

    Join the Tech Tri-Beta Biology Club for a tour of Red Silo Brewery on Wednesday, September 29 at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting at Red Silo to hear all about the brewing processes and science behind the bar from the owner!

    Note: you do not have to be 21 to attend. Of course, in order to drink any products, you will need to be 21 with proof of ID.

    Get ready to explore the 100 acres of STEM with Winnie the Pooh and all his friends. We will build a house for Eeyore, see how far Tigger can bounce, brew up some honey slime, and more!

    A parent or guardian is expected to attend with the student(s) Students may not be left unattended.

    Masks are required to attend this event as per Tennessee Tech University Policy.

    PTC Student Isaiah Roe Begins Internship with Rural Reimagined

    Rural Reimagined (RR) continues its successful partnership with the Professional & Technical Communications (PTC) program and officially welcomes student intern Isaiah Roe for the fall 2021 semester. Roe represents the PTC program and will receive real-world communication experience by writing and editing stories and articles centered around surrounding rural communities. He will additionally use his PTC skillsets to assist local businesses through website editing and more. Regarding his internship, Roe states, “I am most looking forward to learning new real-life skills , such as Canva, Indesign, and SEO, as well as building a resume that sticks out. I am also really excited to make many new allies in my ascent from a student to a leader in the world outside of school.” Wings up!

  • French Trivia Night!

    French Trivia Night!

    Avant-Garde is hosting French trivia on Thursday, September 23, from 7-8 pm in OAKL 124!

    Questions are all in English and cover French culture, geography, food and language.

    Teams are limited to 3 people each and are asked to register by noon on the 23rd by sending an email to dbarnard@tntech.edu.

    Winning teams will receive prizes to local restaurants, and all participants will receive small gifts for playing.
