The College of Graduate is excited to announce the annual Halloween door/office decorating contest! Please join us in on the fun again this year! Email your department participation to gradstudies@tntech.edu by Monday, October 25th at 4:30pm for the Friday, October 29th judging by impartial students. The first, second and third place winners will receive trophies and year-long bragging rights! Please ensure that accessibility is not hindered by the display and there are no open flames or pyrotechnics. Keep it tactful and appropriate. On Nov. 13, the Tennessee Tech Alumni Association will present awards to four outstanding alumni, and all faculty, staff and students are invited to attend. The Association will honor the following individuals:

Outstanding Young Alumnus Award: Camron Rudd, `05 mechanical engineering and foreign languages
Outstanding Service Award: Susan G. Wells, `93 business management and `95 MBA
Outstanding Philanthropy Award: Scott Edwards, `87 business management
Distinguished Alumnus Award: Fred Lowery, `94 mechanical engineering

Volunteers are needed for a family outreach event on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4:30  – 8:30 PM at the Oakley STEM Center.

Volunteers will assist with hands-on STEM activities, event logistics, set up and tear down. The event is open to families and their children ranging from 3rd to 8th grade.

On October 14, 2021 Residential Life’s Tech Wars Team will host a gallery-style event for all of campus in order to display TN Tech’s creative visual arts talent.  This will be held in the main lobby of the RUC at 11 am (until 12:30pm).

The categories are as follows:

Photography

• (color or black and white)

Black and White Art

• (charcoal, graphite, etc.)

Colored  Art 

• (oils, pastels, colored pencil, henna, etc.)

Sculpture

• (glass, fiber, metal, wood, clay, etc.)

Graphic Design

•  –

this category will design a logo for the TN Tech Food Pantry. The winning submission may have their logo featured on new aprons for food pantry staff.

***There will also be a “People’s Choice” Award we will facilitate online, after the gallery event.

We would love it if you would submit your art to our gallery event.  Anyone affiliated with TN Tech can submit.
