Are you interested in Co-op? If so, then this virtual Co-op Meetup on Tuesday, Oct. 26, via Microsoft Teams at 11 a.m. is your last chance. The Teams link can be accessed by going to this event’s Handshake page, which is linked below. Any student interested in accepting a Cooperative Education position with an employer MUST attend a Co-op Meetup.

The Co-op Meetup will explain the eligibility guidelines for enrolling in the Cooperative Education Program, which went into effect July 1, 2019 for all students.  Pre-registration to enroll in the Co-op Program is now required and attending a Co-op Meetup is your first step!  The new eligibility guidelines can be found at: https://www.tntech.edu/career/students/coop-eligibility.php.

To receive credit, you most log on with Tech credentials, have your camera on, and have your camera on during the entire session.

Please join Dr. Christina Mick from the counseling center for Question, Persuade, Refer Gatekeeper training for suicide prevention. QPR is intended to teach individuals on how to recognized warning signs of suicide and use the QPR framework to assist those individuals in getting appropriate help. This gatekeeper training will be held on October 26 @ 11:00am in the multi-purpose room. For more information please contact Dr. Mick at 372-3331.

The Tech Wars Committee has extended the deadline for the Tech’s Got Talent: Visual Arts Edition.  They have also opened the competition up to faculty and staff.  Deadline to register is November 2, 2021.  There will be a gallery-style event on November 4, 2021 at 11 AM in the RUC Lobby.  That is where each category will be judged.  There will also be a “People’s Choice” Award through an online voting format.  Please consider submitting your artwork.  Click link below to learn more about the categories and also to register.

In honor of National Chemistry Week, the Student Members of the American Chemical Society will be giving away free chemistry activity bags at the Putnam County library (50 E Broad St) from 12 – 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23. The bags include a copy of the Celebrating Chemistry magazine, as well as goggles and supplies for several of the activities included in the magazine. The theme of NCW is “Fast or Slow: Chemistry Makes it Go” and helps teach people of all ages about reaction rates and factors that impact how fast chemical reactions happen. This event is open to the general community and is accessible to all ages and education levels, so please come get a bag and share this information with anyone that may be interested.
