The Creative Writing Club and the English Department Outreach Committee are proud to host Dreamers and Writers, an informal talk on writing in the fantasy genre, on Thursday, September 28 at 11:00 am in Henderson Hall 216A. All are invited to join us in welcoming Kristen M. Long, a graduate from Tennessee Tech University and the author of the new, adult fantasy novel Thief of Sorrows, as she offers her perspective on writing fantasy. Get ready to unleash your imagination at “Building a brighter future one BRICK at a time!” This STEM event invites kids to embark on an exciting journey of hands-on learning, where they will construct, engineer, and innovate with LEGO bricks, empowering them to shape a brighter future through creative problem-solving and STEM exploration. This event is a Safari Saturday which is for Pre-K through 3rd graders and will take place at the Oakley STEM Center on Saturday September 30, 2023, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Distress Protocol Workshop
All Academic Affairs faculty and staff are invited to join the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFÉ) and the Tennessee Tech University Counseling Center for a workshop on the student distress protocol on Tuesday, September 26th from 3-4:30 PM in RUC 101, Tech Pride Room.
The Tennessee Tech University Counseling Center is committed to providing resources to ensure that a student in crisis is responded to quickly, responsibly, and in an empathetic manner. A distressed student may also display disruptive behaviors, which may be covered by student conduct policy, and not be addressed directly by this protocol. This protocol is designed to provide guidance to the campus community. It defines how to:
