Make plans now to stretch your creativity and attend on-campus, in-person, hands-on workshops at the Appalachian Center for Craft! A few seats are available in some of the October 16, workshops. Even if you have little or no experience, you can learn to create a glass paperweight, a ceramic box with a lid, or an enameled copper pendant. We’ll provide all of the tools, materials and lunch for the day. Pre-registration is required and is available at https://www.tntech.edu/fine-arts/craftcenter/workshops/fall-spring/. The University Orchestra will perform its first concert of the fall semester on Tuesday evening, September 28 at 7:30pm, in Wattenbarger auditorium at the Bryan Fine Arts Center. The concert will feature works by Leroy Anderson, Antonin Dvorak, Franz Schubert and Ludwig Beethoven. “We are so pleased to be rehearsing with full orchestra again. The first concert of the semester is a quick introduction to orchestral playing for many in our orchestra, and these short stylistic works are audience favorites as well” says conductor Dan Allcott.

The University Orchestra is an all-student ensemble comprised of music majors, and students from the general campus population. Students with orchestral instrument experience are encouraged to become a part of the orchestra and can contact Prof. Allcott at : dallcott@tntech.edu

Acting and Singing auditions on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Callbacks on Saturday, September 11, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (as needed)
Principle roles (both men and women) available for 8 performers (18-50). *
You do not need to be a TTU student to audition or to be cast. Minority actors are strongly encouraged. Interested performers should prepare 16 bars of any song for their singing audition, acting auditions will consist of cold-reading and improvisation.

Sunday evening September 5, at 7:00pm, the Bryan Symphony Orchestra at Tennessee Tech will perform a free concert at the Dogwood Park Pavilion in Cookeville. In addition to traditional light classics and patriotic fare the orchestra will perform a tribute to the late Eddie Van Halen and a medley by Journey!  Join us for great music performed by Tech students, faculty, alums, and area professionals in the beautiful outdoors. The Bryan Symphony Orchestra appreciates you efforts to keep other concert-goers safe by wearing a mask while seated near other patrons.

The Bryan Symphony Orchestra is a collaborative effort between the School of Music at Tennessee Tech and the Bryan Symphony Orchestra Association which raises over $200,000 annually in support of concerts given by the orchestra consisting of Tech faculty, students, and other area professionals.
