    Football season is finally here!

    This Saturday, August 30, the Golden Eagles take on the Cumberland Phoenix at 12 p.m. at Tucker Stadium for our first home game!

    Tailgating begins at 9 a.m. Enjoy live music, a kid’s zone with inflatables, and performances by the Golden Eagle Cheer and Dance teams. Finally, get a chance to see the Golden Eagle football team during the Eagle Walk before the game.

    The 98.5 KISS FM Tailgate Park opens at 9 a.m. and student tailgating is free with no reservations required! The student tailgate section will be on the grass on the north side of the tennis courts next to the inflatable helmet.

    Bryan Symphony at Dogwood Park

    TTU’s Bryan Symphony Orchestra will perform a free concert in Dogwood Park on Sunday evening, August 31st, at 7pm. , featuring music from Wicked, Superman, How to Train Your Dragon, and a musical remembrance of Chuck Mangione and the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson. Pre-concert activities for children will start at 6pm. Come dressed as a favorite character from one of the movies listed above, or even a beach boy or Chuck Mangione! Rain location is Wattenbarger auditorium at the Bryan Fine Arts Center.

    The Office of Communications & Marketing congratulates the winners of the 2025 Spirit Days decorating competition! With the forthcoming dedication of “Wilmore Way,” this year’s contest included an outer space theme. First place was awarded to the Millard Oakley STEM Center, second place to the College of Agriculture & Human Ecology and third place to the Office of the President. The “fan favorite” award went to The Post. Thanks to everyone who participated for a spirited start to the semester!

    Congratulations New Honors Program Director

    Congratulations and welcome new Honors Program Director, Lindsey Roberts, and new Administrative Services Coordinator, Rachel Ickes! Lindsey started in the Honors Program as a student and helped shape the program as Program Coordinator and Interim Director before taking the helm as Director on July 1. Rachel is new to Tennessee Tech and is already a welcome addition to the team since joining the program in the spring semester. They both are committed to strengthening leadership, growing research, and connecting the community through service and civic engagement. Lindsey and Rachel are excited to continue working with Tech students, faculty, and staff!

    Battle of the Birds Giving Challenge begins Thursday at noon!

    The sky isn’t big enough for two birds…

    The Battle of the Birds Giving Challenge launches at noon on Thursday and runs through noon on Saturday, Aug. 30. Join alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends and help Awesome Eagle beat Cumberland University’s Phelix the Phoenix in a 48-hour showdown to see which school can raise the most.

    Then, join us at Tucker Stadium at noon on Saturday when the Golden Eagles take on Cumberland University in our first football game of the season. The winning mascot will be crowned at halftime.
