    On Nov. 13, the Tennessee Tech Alumni Association will present awards to four outstanding alumni, and all faculty, staff and students are invited to attend. The Association will honor the following individuals:

    Outstanding Young Alumnus Award: Camron Rudd, `05 mechanical engineering and foreign languages
    Outstanding Service Award: Susan G. Wells, `93 business management and `95 MBA
    Outstanding Philanthropy Award: Scott Edwards, `87 business management
    Distinguished Alumnus Award: Fred Lowery, `94 mechanical engineering

    TN Tech Food Pantry – Closed for Fall Break

    The TN Tech Food Pantry will be closed Monday and Tuesday, October 11th and 12th.  Our wonderful student volunteers will be on fall break.  We will open back up, for our regular hours, on Wednesday morning, October 13th at 8am.

    REMEMBER: We do have the auxiliary pantry in the library which is open all hours the library is open.  You do not need to pre-register.  You can just go by and grab whatever 10 items you need.

    Volunteers Needed! Creepy Crawly STEM Outreach Event 10/15/2021

    Volunteers are needed for a family outreach event on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4:30  – 8:30 PM at the Oakley STEM Center.

    Volunteers will assist with hands-on STEM activities, event logistics, set up and tear down. The event is open to families and their children ranging from 3rd to 8th grade.

    Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar: Cameron Shepherd, TTU Physics

    The Undergraduate STEM Research Seminar this week will be given by physics major Cameron Shepherd. Cameron is using a quantum system formed from a typical defect in diamond to measure magnetic fields. In his talk, Assessment of a Nitrogen-Vacancy Magnetometer for Use in Precision Ultracold Neutron Experiments, Cameron will describe his work over the summer to address this quantum system with microwaves, allowing him to observe changes due to the presence of an external magnetic field. The seminar will be this Friday, October 8th at 4pm in Volpe Library 248. It will be geared for undergraduates from any STEM major, but graduate students and faculty are also encouraged to attend!     The following researchers in the College of Business have been inducted into the 2020-2021 Wings Up 100.

    Amanda Powell, producer, iCube

    The 2020-2021 Wings Up 100 roster is an elite group of 38 Tech researchers who brought in at least $100,000 in external funding for their research and activities during 2020-2021.

    Congratulations to these researchers who helped Tech set a new high in external funding.

  • Jobe Parking Lot

    The parking lot beside Jobe Hall will be closed from Friday evening (Oct 8,2021) to Monday afternoon (Oct 11, 2021). Please remove all vehicles from the parking lot, Facilities will be using heavy equipment in the area.

    Any vehicles still in the parking lot by Monday morning (Oct 11, 2021) will be towed at the owner’s expense.

  • SCHOLAR MENTOR AWARD COMMITTEE

    Nominate a Faculty Member for Scholar-Mentor Award

      The University established the Scholar-Mentor Award to honor TTU’s long history of close relationships between faculty and their students. The award honors a faculty member who displays outstanding mentorship, integrating scholarship, research and teaching excellence. The deadline for submitting nominations for the 2021-22 Scholar Mentor Award is Friday, November 12, 2021. Complete guidelines and the nomination form are contained on the Office of Research’s home page at the link below.   • General Complaint Reporting – Fall 2021

    General Complaint Reporting

    In addition to the Fraud, Waste, or Abuse reporting form, Tennessee Tech also has a form on Internal Audit’s website for confidentially reporting complaints about accounting, internal control, auditing matters, code of conduct, and other related issues that are NOT fraud, waste, or abuse. Complainants remain COMPLETELY ANONYMOUS to Internal Audit unless the last section of the form is completed. General complaints received on this form are routed to appropriate campus departments for follow-up.

    The form can be submitted online or completed, printed, and mailed to Internal Audit, PO Box 5154, Cookeville, TN 38505.
