Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum located on the historic Cheek estate. Originally built as the home of Leslie and Mabel Cheek in 1929, Cheekwood is one of the finest examples of an American Country Place Era estate. Make sure you check out Handshake for more information!

The Tennessee Tech Office of Planned Giving presents our fall seminar “Understanding Different Retirement Strategies” on Tuesday, October 22, at 5:30 p.m. in Lab Science Commons 1211. Justin Turney of Turney Financial Group will present, and light refreshments will be provided. Justin will provide valuable insights into different retirement strategies, helping you to make informed decisions for your future. Whether you are planning for retirement or looking to optimize your current strategy, this session will offer practical advice and guidance. CyberEagles will be hosting a Tennessee Tech alum and CyberCorps: Scholarship for Service recipient, Darren Cunningham. Darren is from Nashville, Tennessee, who graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a concentration in cybersecurity at Tech. He has been working for the federal government for 5 years as an IT professional with experience in both offensive and defensive security. The meeting is at 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 10, in Prescott Hall 215. Food will be provided.
The Child Development Lab invites you to participate in our annual Costume Parade. Each October, the children and families from the CDL march through campus and around the quad, collecting treats along the way! Individuals, office teams, departments, or campus groups are invited to participate by completing the form (https://forms.office.com/r/N7fRxskvva) to reserve a table. Participants are encouraged to dress up and decorate their table. Once the children arrive at the quad they will stop at each table to collect treats. Thank you for helping to make this event a success!
The Graduate Chemistry Club (GCC) will be holding a bake sale in the south atrium of the Laboratory Science Commons on Thursday, Oct 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a variety of baked goods available and we accept cash and card. Funds raised go toward helping support registration expenses for graduate students to present their research at national conferences.
