Hello, Tennessee Tech students and faculty!
We are a team of graduate students in the NSF-NRT ‘Spirit of Gadugi’ Graduate Students Organization. We are working to renovate Whitaker Park in Monterey, Tennessee, with support from the Monterey Alderman and assistance from the Upper Cumberland Development District (UCDD). As we gather funding and resources, we would love to hear your ideas on shaping this community space.
If you have a few minutes, please complete our brief survey to provide anonymous feedback. Your input is invaluable as we plan the park’s final design and features. For more details, please email cawolanin21@tntech.edu.

The Living Waters food pantry, which serves the Cherokee reservation in NC, is in sore straits as their Asheville warehouse was destroyed in the hurricane. The pantry has been a partner with TTU’s NSF grant program, Engendering the Spirit of Gadugi at the Food/Energy/Water Nexus. Dr. Troy Smith, Dr. Sabrina Buer, and student volunteers collected donations and delivered them to Cherokee two weeks ago. The history department office is currently accepting donations of food, cash, hygiene and cleaning products, and water for one more supply run on November 8. Please drop donations by 118 Henderson Hall- thank you. Contact Dr. Smith for details at tdsmith@tntech.edu.

On Oct. 31, from 7 AM to midnight, take a Halloween costume selfie in front of the backdrop in the library and email it to mistykline@tntech.edu for a chance to win. 1St, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be given.
