    Honors Program Students Celebrate Culture with Cuisine

    Honors Program students from Benin, Brazil, India, and Venezuela hosted the International Cuisine and Culture celebration on Nov. 7. Attendees enjoyed palak paneer, dèguè, pastel piña and more. Students shared the cultural significance of their dishes, including the story behind Brazil’s brigadeiros, a popular dessert linked to a presidential campaign. Yulieth Mercado also presented traditional dress, music, and photos of Venezuelan biodiversity. Thanks to all who made the event a success!

    PURPLE Make-Up and Recap Workshop

    Have you missed out on some of the Center for Career Development’s Workshops? Join us for the LAST PURPLE Career Readiness workshop, where we will recap what you might have missed this summer. The workshop is on Thursday, November 21st, starting at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multi-purpose room (second floor).

    This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Gold Career Readiness Certificate for freshman and sophomore students. Bring your Eagle Card for attendance credit.

    Commuter Lot west of Tucker Stadium to close 6:00 PM Friday evening

    The commuter red parking lot located between Tucker Stadium and the Hooper Eblen Center will be CLOSED beginning 6:00 p.m. CT on Friday, November 22, 2024 in preparation for Saturday’s football game. Those still parked after 6 p.m. in the lot, will be contacted and/or towed, at their own expense, to the purple parking lot located on the west side of campus across Willow Ave. Donor Lot A, Donor Lot C, and general gameday parking will open on Saturday. Reserved Tailgate Parking in the 98.5 KISS FM Tailgate Lot begins on Saturday unless scheduled through the Athletics Department.

    Cathy Richardson, visiting artist working in glass, will be delivering a slide lecture about her work Thursday, Nov. 21, at 6 p.m. in AV 1 at  Appalachian Center for Craft.  Please join us to learn more about Richardson’s vacuum encased glass sculptures and her career in glass.
