Yes, it’s that wonderful time of the year when everyone is anxious to celebrate the holidays, and the only thing in the way is the dreaded week of final exams. Even the name itself can elicit cold sweats and episodes of hyperventilation.

The good news is that it, like most things, will pass quickly and allow us to enjoy the benefits of those hard earned course credits. Hopefully, the lessons you’ve learned throughout the semester have stuck with you, and now it’s simply a matter of demonstrating your newfound knowledge one more time.

Truthfully, life is full of final exams. The experience gained and your approach to these course exams can help prepare you for future challenges with likely greater consequences attached.

May I wish all students good luck and God speed this week. Get plenty of rest, eat a good diet, review for each test, and relax. That’s the best advice anyone can offer.

This outstanding semester will culminate with fall commencement on Saturday. We will celebrate with approximately 800 new Tech graduates and their families. Congratulations to our graduates and everyone for another great semester at TTU.

And to all students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university, I thank you for your encouragement and support this semester. It has made all the difference.

Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season. Merry Christmas!

Go Eagles!
