TBR announces new funding opportunity for low-cost or free educational materials
The TBR announced its “Open Educational Resources and Low Costs/No Costs Educational Support Materials” funding opportunity with a Nov. 1 deadline and funds available for Spring 2021. These grants target digital education initiatives and creation of educational support materials that are low, or no, cost to undergraduate and/or graduate students in new or existing campus services or programs to increase equity in access among historically underserved student populations, including, but not limited to, students of color, low income students, adults, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and traditionally underrepresented genders. Projects should involve collaborations across departments to ensure an institutional approach. Please complete the internal Notice of Intent to Submit Proposal form if you are planning to apply. 16th Annual Nolan Fowler Constitution Day To Be Held Virtually September 17
Please join us for the 16th Annual Nolan Fowler Constitution Day Celebration on Thursday, September 17, at 6 p.m. This year’s event will be held virtually via Zoom. In honor of the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment’s ratification, our speaker will be Ms. Paula F. Casey of Memphis, TN who has dedicated more than 30 years to educating the public about the women’s suffrage movement. Human Ecology Friday Cafe Fall 2020
Friday Café is the hands-on learning experience for foods and nutrition students in Human Ecology. This fall semester students will utilize vegetables grown at Shipley Farm. Dates will be Sept 18, Sept 25, Oct 2, and Oct 9. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Friday Café will serve only four meals this semester. All meals will be a carryout option only. There will be three time pick-up options each week (11:45 am, 12:00 pm, and 12:15 pm) with a limit of 10 meals for each time slot. Meals will be available for pickup on the front porch of Oakley Hall. Meal purchase is made through Marketplace by making prepayment by noon on Wednesday. Meal cost will be $8. Menus are posted on Marketplace and on the Human Ecology Friday Café webpage. Contact the Human Ecology office at 372-3157 with any questions.

Payroll & Position Budgeting/Control Functions Moving to the Business Office
Beginning September 1, 2020 the Payroll and Position Budgeting and Control functions for the University have moved to the Business Office. Operationally the responsibilities of these areas have not changed, only the reporting structure. This change will allow the Human Resources staff to focus on employee recruitment, retention, and other HR priorities that enhance the employee experience. It will also create efficiencies with the funds disbursement process of Payroll. Please note that all payroll checks for both employees and students will now be available at the Business Office cashier windows for pick-up. Payroll questions should still be directed to Payroll Manager, Gaile Palmer and all position budgeting questions should now be directed to Budget Director, Terri McWilliams.
