Rural Reimagined (RR) is excited to announce and welcome its newest graduate assistant, Ellie Buckner, for the Fall 2022 semester. Ellie is a TN Tech graduate student pursuing her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA). She previously worked with Rural Reimagined as an academic intern and recently accepted a Graduate Assistantship (GA) position. She will help lead the Rural Reimagined communicative efforts and manage the Professional and Technical Communication (PTC) interns. Regarding her internship, Ellie says, “I am in a unique position in which I can help people from all different walks of life grow their businesses. Being born and raised in Cookeville, the businesses, the community, and the people here have a special place in my heart. I am thankful to have the opportunity to continue this work with Rural Reimagined in a new capacity.” Thank you, Ellie, for all your hard work! Wings up!

Join the Women’s Center for our first book club meeting of the semester from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, Sep 6th, in the Women’s Center office (RUC 339). Dr. Erin Hoover, professor in the English Department’s Creative Writing program, is leading a special series of women’s poetry for our book club this semester. We’ll start with The Hurting Kind by Ada Limón, who is the current national poet laureate and will visit campus for a reading and writing workshop later this month. Haven’t read it yet? That’s ok! Join the Center for Career Development on Thursday, September 1, beginning at 11 a.m. in the Roaden University Center Multipurpose Room (2nd floor) for the first Purple Career Readiness Workshop of the semester! Russ Coughenour, Director of the Center for Career Development, will teach you about NACE Career Ready Skills, which are sure to impress a potential employer.

This event is open to all students in all majors and counts towards the Purple Career Readiness Certificate for junior and senior students. Bring your Eagle Card for a quick sign-in.
