Success Story: 2018 Eagle Works Winner Grows Successful Business

237

Tennessee Tech’s Rural Reimagined hosts the annual Eagle Works Competition to help future entrepreneurs start their businesses. Each team proposes its business, and a winner is selected based on potential rural impact. In 2018, Téa Phillips with her partners won $6,000 for first place in the Eagle Works competition. The group created Metaflex, which is a glove designed to alleviate discomfort and pain for those who suffer from arthritis. Currently, Metaflex is a rapidly growing business providing affordable arthritis support. Phillips recommends working with Rural Reimagined, “They know what they are talking about. These people within the community want you to succeed and know what it takes.” Read more about Téa’s story on our Newsroom: https://www.tntech.edu/grand-challenge/news/articles/11072022-eagle-works-2018-tea-phillips.php
