    A Street Parking Reserved for University Store Pick-Ups

    The parking spaces along the wall on the north side of the Roaden Univeristy Center will be reserved for textbook pick-up only from Thursday, August 20 until Friday, August 28.

  • Undergraduate Graduation Application Deadline for Spring 2021 is September 1.

    The deadline to apply for undergraduate graduation for Spring 2021 is September 1. Students apply online using their Eagle Online account and must have earned 80 credit hours. Students should review their Degree Works audit located in Eagle Online; check to make sure the catalog term, major and minor are correct before applying. Click here for more information.

    Cameraless Photography Workshop Opportunities in Rugby, TN

    Rural Reimagined invites you to take part in a cameraless photography workshop on October 10th in Historic Rugby. Participants will experiment with cameraless photography methods by creating botanical photograms in a darkroom. Dr. Jeremy Blair, a Professor of Art Education at TN Tech, will instruct participants to learn basic darkroom techniques, forage outside for materials, and create stunning black and white photograms without a camera. The workshop is ideal for beginners, and all materials and supplies are provided. Regarding the workshop, Dr. Blair states, “The workshop will explore historic photography methods inspired by the Victorian era of photography.” Anyone can participate in the workshop, and there are also volunteer opportunities for students interested in photography, chemistry, or helping participants on certain tasks.     We are encouraging all students to place their textbook order online to reduce the traffic of in-store customers. When placing your order online, you will have the option for it to be shipped to your home / local address, or for in-store pickup.

    How to order your books online:

    Option 1: Logging into your eagle online account.

      1. Log into your eagle online account.
      2. Go to students
      3. Click on registration
      4. Click on “order your textbooks” (5thfrom the bottom of the list)

      5. Click on the bookstore link.  This will populate your schedule into the next screen.

    Option 2:  Going through the bookstore website

      1. Go to tenn-tech.bncollege.com
      2. Click on textbooks
      3. Click on find textbooks

      4. Click on the drop down menu for your term and class and click find materials.

  • Textbook Pick-Up – Skip the Line, Reserve your Time!

    IN-STORE PICKUP.  Once you have received the email that your order is ready for pick up, you may come to the store and get your books. The University Bookstore has developed a reservation so you can schedule your pick up date and time in advance!

    Minimize you time standing in line. Reserve a time to pick up your books on the North Patio of the University Center (along A Street). To make a North Patio reservation, go to www.calendly.com/tenntechbooks/online-order-pickup

      • Use your Order BOX Number, which will be in the pickup email you will receive once your order has been completed and schedule a pick-up time. (ex. Box #1234-F20-PCK)
      • At your scheduled day/time come to the North Patio of the University Center to pick up your books.

      • There will be reserved parking along the North Patio wall on A Street.

  • Food Pantry Fall 2020

    Food Pantry Fall 2020

      1. The pantry is transitioning from summer hours to regular semester hours.
      2. Closed for 1 week to get our new staff trained (Aug. 24 – 30).
      3. During the time we are closed, you may visit the auxiliary pantry in the library, open during regular library hours, 10 items each week at this location. Make sure you fill out the index cards every time you go (and drop it in the box).  Please also wear a mask and gloves when shopping there.
      4. COVID Plan: If you would like go inside the pantry and shop for yourself this semester, you will

    absolutely

      1. have to arrive wearing a mask and gloves.  You will also need to bag your own groceries after shopping. This is for everyone’s health safety, including your own.

        1. If you arrive without these items, one of our staff will have to shop for you and place your items outside for contactless pick up.
      1. If you become quarantined due to testing positive for COVID or being in contact with someone having tested positive for COVID, you can arrange contactless pick up for groceries by calling our staff at 931-372-4067.

    Regular Hours: Monday – Thursday (8am – 5pm), August 31 – December 4, 2020

  • UPDATE to PeopleAdmin Login Process

    PeopleAdmin has been recently updated to use single sign-on authentication in line with the University’s mission to make access to external software programs easier for the campus community. What does this mean? Well, if you access PeopleAdmin directly through the IDme Express portal, no extra login will be required. You will bypass the normal PeopleAdmin login screen and be taken into PeopleAdmin immediately. If instead you decide to visit the PeopleAdmin website directly, there will be a link at the top labeled “Employees click here to login” that will allow you to use your TTU domain username and password to login. Your PeopleAdmin username and password will now match your TTU domain username and password, so no extra passwords to remember. If you visit PeopleAdmin, you will see these changes have already taken effect. We hope this will make your PeopleAdmin experience better. If you have any questions or issues, please let us know.

    Road Closures – University and Peachtree

    In an effort to allow students to maintain social distancing while walking in the center of campus, portions of Peachtree Ave and University Dr will be closed to thru traffic (authorized vehicles only).  Stop signs and barriers will be placed in locations that will allow block thru traffic, but maintain access to the Henderson Hall parking lot.

    Center Spotlight: STEM Center Awarded $49,875 SERS Grant for ARISE Program

    Congratulations to Rural Reimagined’s partner the Oakley STEM Center and PI Dr. Darek Potter (STEM Center Director), Co-PI Dr. Julie Baker (College of Education Associate Dean), and Co-PI Mr. Harry Ingle (College of Engineering Student Success Center Director) for being awarded a $49,875 grant to develop the Ambassadors for Rural Innovation & STEM Education (ARISE) program. The program will recruit 20 first-year student ambassadors from economically disadvantaged rural communities who are pursuing STEM and STEM-related majors. Student ambassadors will develop skills in teamwork, communication, networking, teaching pedagogy, and community service. They will also gain experiential learning by assisting teachers in delivering STEM-related lessons and will be mentored by regional industry partners to gain an understanding of local opportunities after graduation.
