    Career Readiness Deadline is Monday, November 14

    Monday, November 14, is the FINAL DAY to submit your Career Readiness Application for the Fall 2022 semester. All materials for Gold and Purple Career Readiness Applications MUST be turned in-person to the Center for Career Development (RUC 328), via email to career@tntech.edu, or online at https://www.tntech.edu/career/students/career-ready.php by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14.

    Substitutions or late submissions will not be accepted.

    The Career Readiness Certification program is hosted by the Center for Career Development.

    Hey guys! The Tennessee Tech Rotaract Club is having another meeting in TJ Farr Room 203 during dead hour! This meeting will actually sponsor a guest speaker from Cookeville Breakfast Rotary to talk to the club about experiences in the club as well as leadership! Feel free to come by and gain some insight! We will also have food, so that is definitely something to seek out!   • Law Enforcement: Challenges, Opportunities, and Careers

    The Sociology and Criminal Justice club will be hosting guest speaker Dr. Dennis Bowman on Monday, November 7th from 6 pm- 8pm in Stonecipher Lecture Hall room 113. Dr. Bowman has extensive experience in law enforcement both practically and academically. With over 30 years of experience from the Illinois State Police and as Professor Emeritus in the School of Law Enforcement & Justice Administration at Western Illinois University, Dr. Bowman will discuss contemporary issues currently faced by law enforcement and strategies for dealing with those issues. Dr. Bowman will also provide students with tips on how to earn positions in law enforcement agencies upon graduating.     EWB & TTU Water Pros Hear from The Army Corps of Engineers

    Engineers Without Borders (EWB) & TTU Water Professionals are hosting their third joint meeting of the semester THIS Thursday November 3rd in Prescott Hall Room 330 during dead hour. Kelley Peck and Austin Auld from The Army Corps of Engineers will be presenting while we have sandwiches for lunch! If you have an interest in working for USACE please bring your resume to the meeting!

    As always, all majors are welcome and encouraged to join!! If you would like to be an official member – please bring your semester and/or yearly dues.

    All Ladies in Civil Engineering Hosting Linda Sullivan from CIA

    All Ladies in Civil Engineering (ALICE) will be hosting Linda Sullivan, a Tech alum, as our environmental speaker on Friday October 28th from 11:30am to 12:30pm in Prescott 226. All ladies who are majoring in Civil Engineering or who would like to major in civil engineering are welcome to attend.

    Linda Sullivan, the president of CIA (Civil Infrastructure Associates), has 23 years of experience as a civil engineer with a focus in water treatment, supply systems, wastewater collection, and treatment systems. She also has lots of experience in project management such as alternative evaluation, engineering reports, and construction administration and observations.

We will feature our first guest speaker of the semester, Cody Long, a 2020 graduate from Tech’s mechanical engineering department who had the pleasure of finding his first job out of school during the pandemic lockdowns. From working at a trailer manufacturer to starting a career at Y-12, Cody’s story is worth a listen.

    Presbyterian Student Association Fall Celebration Cookout!!

    We are the Presbyterian Student Association at Tennessee Tech and we are a part of the National UKirk campus ministry organization.

    We are hosting our annual fall cookout October 18th at 6pm. We’ll be hanging out at our ministry house located at 629 N Cedar Ave across from Cooper/Dunn dorms. We usually have an annual cookout each fall semester to kick-off the school year. This year we decided to wait until it cooled off.

    We will be serving hamburgers, hotdogs, popcorn & other yummy treats. We’ll have cornhole and other games too. We hope you will all join us in food and fellowship to celebrate this semester.

    Anyone & everyone is welcome here!! We are an inclusive community offering students at Tennessee Tech support, fellowship, and safe space for critical reflection on questions of faith.
