All Ladies in Civil Engineering (ALICE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) will be hosting a Career Fair Preparation event on February 28 from 6-8pm in Prescott 222. All ladies who are majoring in Civil Engineering or who would like to major in Civil Engineering are welcome to attend. Sonja Higgenbotham from Tech’s Center for Career development will be presenting on tips and advice for the upcoming career fair. This will a great opportunity to learn how to connect with employers!

This Wednesday, take the next step in getting ready for Eagle Works by hearing all about prototyping and minimum viable products. Part of the Eagle Works competition is a tradeshow, and having something created that shows off your idea makes you stand out! Hear from a Maker Member about all the different things available in the iMakerspace and how to get access, then one of the directors in the iCube will talk about app development. Finally, we’ll go over some of the options in Canva to create professional looking mockups for your presentation.
Workshop starts at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Organization (MEGSO) is hosting a speaker event featuring Dr. Bruce Jo, faculty at the mechanical engineering department. Dr. Jo will be providing insights about his exciting research topics conducted at TTU such as human-robot interaction, designs for weapon systems, and inertia sensor applications. Do you get nervous when you have to make presentations? Are you never sure how to start? Do you just want to improve the skills you have? This workshop will help you prepare for the Idea Challenge on Feb. 15 (more details on the Eagle Works website!), and teach skills that will be useful in class and career! Being able to give a short elevator pitch about yourself or your idea could make a difference in your future! We will also allow time for working on your pitch and getting assistance from Eagle Works staff.
