NSF issues updates to the Research Performance Progress Report effective Oct. 5

Effective October 5, 2020, the National Science Foundation (NSF) will enhance the Project Reporting System in Research.gov to implement the revised Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR). The RPPR is a uniform format for reporting performance progress on Federally funded research projects and research-related activities. NSF awardees use the RPPR to prepare and submit annual and final project reports to NSF. Further details about the RPPR can be found on the Research.gov About Project Reports website. The Office of Research wants to remind you that the National Science Foundation announced the fall deadlines for students to apply to the Graduate Research Fellowship program. The GRFP provides three years of support for the graduate education of eligible individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant research achievements in STEM or STEM education. Applications for this program are submitted directly by the student in the research.gov GRFP Application Module (https://www.research.gov/grfp/Login.do); however, we ask that all students planning to apply contact Jamie Murdock at (jlmurdock@tntech.edu) so we can ensure that all applicable internal paperwork is prepared prior to submission. TTU has contracted with Cornerstone Government Affairs to assist in federal appropriations and they will be hosting a video informational session on Thursday, September 17 at 2:00.  All Faculty and Administration are encouraged to attend.  Please contact Jill Dicey at jdicey@tntech.edu for the link to participate.

The TBR announced its “Open Educational Resources and Low Costs/No Costs Educational Support Materials” funding opportunity with a Nov. 1 deadline and funds available for Spring 2021. These grants target digital education initiatives and creation of educational support materials that are low, or no, cost to undergraduate and/or graduate students in new or existing campus services or programs to increase equity in access among historically underserved student populations, including, but not limited to, students of color, low income students, adults, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and traditionally underrepresented genders. Projects should involve collaborations across departments to ensure an institutional approach. Please complete the internal Notice of Intent to Submit Proposal form if you are planning to apply.
