  • NSF announces fall deadlines for Graduate Research Fellowship Program applicatio

    The National Science Foundation announced the fall deadlines for students to apply to the Graduate Research Fellowship program. The GRFP provides three years of support for the graduate education of eligible individuals who have demonstrated their potential for significant research achievements in STEM or STEM education. Applications for this program are submitted directly by the student in the research.gov GRFP Application Module (https://www.research.gov/grfp/Login.do); however, we ask that all students planning to apply contact Jamie Murdock at (jlmurdock@tntech.edu) so we can ensure that all applicable internal paperwork is prepared prior to submission.   • Research 101 Workshop Series

    Research 101 Workshop Series

    The Office of Research, in partnership with Grant Accounting and the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, presents the Research 101 Workshop Series. This workshop series will equip faculty with the knowledge and know-how to identify which funding options are best suited to their needs, help them navigate the grant proposal process, apply for funding opportunities, and successfully proceed in the research post-award management phase.

    Sessions are open to all faculty and will be offered campus wide. To participate, you can register for each individual session HERE. All sessions will be conducted via Teams and take place from 11-12pm. You can view the full Research 101: Workshop Series HERE.

  • Call for Volunteers from Tennessee Tech Electric Vehicle Demonstration Project

    Call for Volunteers from Tennessee Tech Electric Vehicle Demonstration Project

    Tennessee Tech is currently conducting a Department of Energy-supported electric vehicle demonstration project to promote EV awareness and readiness in the Upper Cumberland region in Tennessee. Volunteers from Tennessee Tech and the Upper Cumberland region, are needed to participate in the project. Qualified volunteers will be retaining a market EV product for their daily applications for up to two weeks at no cost other than charging cost. The participating volunteers will have the opportunities to learn more information about EV such as the upfront purchase cost, the operational cost, EV performance and operation, and others.   • Cell Phone Stipends

    Due to the budget reductions that Tennessee Tech is facing due to COVID-19 and international student declines, there were several items presented to the Board of Trustees. Effective immediately, phone stipend benefits will be eliminated.  This means that no phone stipends will be processed or credited for July paychecks going forward.

    While we understand this may not be the news you were hoping for, these reductions are necessary to allow Tennessee Tech to focus on our core values and mission, our students.
