    Spring 2022 Research 101: Post-Award Management

    Once you receive word that a proposal is funded, what are the next steps? Join the Office of Research and the Center for Advancing Faculty Excellence (CAFE) for this session on Thursday, February 24th at 11 AM. During this session, we will walk you through the post-award roles and responsibilities. Items to be covered include award activation, project and budget revisions, and project closeout.     Reminder: Nominations for the 2022 Derryberry Award due March 2

    The 2022 Derryberry Award nomination deadline is Wednesday, March 2. This award was established in honor of the late Everett Derryberry after 34 years as president of Tennessee Tech. This prestigious honor grants a plaque and cash award to a graduating senior who demonstrates a high level of scholastic achievement and successful campus involvement in leadership and enrichment opportunities. Individuals who graduated in December 2021 or are scheduled to graduate in May or August 2022 are eligible for nomination. Visit https://www.tntech.edu/derryberryaward for more information.

    Center Stage presents Lily Hoang

    Center Stage visiting novelist Lily Hoang will be conducting a generative writing workshop, “Mirror, Mirror, Science and Magic,” for campus writers from across campus, Thursday, Feb.24, from 3-4pm, in Henderson 305. No experience is necessary. Sponsored by the Creative Writing program of the English department.

    Lily Hoang is the author of five books, including A Bestiary (finalist for a PEN USA Nonfiction Book Award) and Changing (recipient of a PEN Open Books Award). She has been a Mellon Fellow at Rhodes University in South Africa, a Distinguished Visiting Writer at Cornell College, and a Cultural Exchange Faculty Fellow at Wuhan University in China. To date, she has taught creative writing on five continents. She currently teaches in the MFA Program at UC San Diego.
