    Applications to be a 2025 Student Orientation Assistant (SOA) are now available! The Office of New Student & Family Programs is seeking students who have a positive attitude toward Tech, have a genuine interest in helping new students, and have great interpersonal skills to help welcome the next incoming class of students and families to campus and be part of the 2025 SOA team. Do you know a student who has these qualities and would be a great fit for this role? Encourage them to apply!

    Interested in weekly swim workouts as well as social and competitive events? Want to learn how to develop or improve your swimming skills? The Tennessee Tech Swim Club is having an interest meeting on Thursday, August 29th at 11am in Memorial Gym Room 119. Come to learn more about our swimming workshop for beginners in addition to our programs for established swimmers!

    Liezl Laurel Wins 2024 Kurt Eisen Excellence in Liberal Arts Award

    Liezl Laurel, a Spanish and computer science double major, is the recipient of the 2024 Kurt Eisen Excellence in Liberal Arts Award. The award recognizes excellence in three areas: critical thinking, context consciousness, and communication.

    Liezl was nominated by the Department of Foreign Languages. Dr. Joshua Martin, Assistant Professor of Spanish, writes, “Liezl represents the highest ideals of humanistic inquiry and impactful research. She embodies the full spirit of the award and is an exceptional ambassador for TTU’s mission and values.”

    Center for Global Experiences is in a new location

    We are excited to announce that last week the Center for Global Experiences moved to a new location! We are now located in the Volpe Library room 248. If you are interested in studying abroad, doing an internship abroad, or if you are a faculty member interested in leading a group of students abroad, please stop by. We will be accepting walk-ins.   • American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/ CPR/ AED Class

    American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/ CPR/ AED Class

    Due to the overwhelming response two additional American Red Cross Adult & Pediatric First Aid/ CPR/ AED classes have been added including Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27.  The class is sponsored by the Exercise Science Department is open to any faculty, staff or graduate assistant that may be interested. The class is a blended learning class in which a portion of the class will be completed online prior to the skill session. You have an opportunity to choose from two hands on skill session including: Class #1: Monday, August 26: 5:30- 8:00 pm or Class #2: Tuesday, August 27: 5:30- 8:00 pm. Anyone interested should email Brad Westrick at bwestrick@tntech.edu no later than Friday, August 23 for more details.

    International Friends host family signups

    Would you like to meet some of the new international students at Tennessee Tech and learn about their culture?  International Friends is simply a social program to help international students get acclimated to campus and Cookeville (not a live-in program) and for families to meet the students and learn about other cultures . A monthly activity is requested. Whenever possible, students should be included in special celebrations.
