    Welcome Dirk Anderson, New Dining Services Director

    Dirk Anderson, a Sequatchie County High School graduate, earned his Bachelor’s in Business Administration with a Sociology minor from Tennessee Tech in 1997. With 27 years in the foodservice industry, including as District Manager for Buc-ee’s and roles at Vanderbilt and Texas A&M, Dirk is eager to return to Tennessee Tech. He brings expertise in innovative dining programs and people-first leadership. Dirk is married to Christi and father to college student Jimmy. He enjoys family time, automobiles, and college sports, and aims to enhance Tennessee Tech’s community and dining programs.

    Tennessee Tech University recently announced that long-time law enforcement professional Fred Nichols as the next campus police chief. With decades of experience in law enforcement Chief Nichols joined University police in 2013 as a patrolman and has been promoted up ranks through the years. Chief Nichols looks forward to serving the campus community and is looking to promote the growth of the department

    Appalachian Studies Association Conference Information Session

    Tennessee Tech will host the 48th annual Appalachian Studies Association Conference themed “Rural Reimagined: A Grand Challenge for Appalachia” on March 20-22, 2025.  Conference leadership invites students, faculty, and staff to submit proposals to present at the conference, to be held on Tennessee Tech’s campus over spring break. Please join us for a special information session on Tuesday, Sept. 10th, from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM in Henderson Hall 304B.  Questions?     The Center for Addiction Prevention and Support invites you to join us August 29th (tonight) at 7 p.m. on the Quad to honor community members and students we have lost to drug overdose.     Adult Swim Clinic

    The Exercise Science Department is offering a free 6-week Adult Swim Clinic for faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and community members on Monday evenings at the Memorial Gym Pool starting on September 9. If you are serious swimmer that wants to become a graceful swimmer or a beginner that is just learning to swim, I encourage you to sign up for the upcoming 6-week clinic. There will be three clinics offered including:

    Intermediate/ Advance Swimmers: Mondays from 5:15- 6:15 pm.

    Novice/ Beginner Swimmers: Mondays from 6:15- 7:15 pm.

    Phobic Swimmers: Mondays from 7:15- 8:00 pm.
