  • King Promoted to UPD Lieutenant

    King Promoted to UPD Lieutenant

    University Police Department recently promoted Sgt. Taylor King to a Lieutenant rank. LT. King joined the University Police Department in 2017 as a patrolman from Cookeville Police Department. Lt. King is currently the accreditation manager, TASER instructor, range instructor, and has training as a Field Training Officer and SWAT.

    Lt. King will begin his new shift the first week of November after the department meets it first accreditation benchmark.

    The Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness if offering this support group for students on Wednesdays, October 9-November 13 from 11:00-11:45 in the Eagle Resource Room 387, on the third floor of the RUC.     Has it been a few years since you’ve had your headshot taken? Did you change your hair, grow a beard, or shave your mustache since you had your last photo take. The office of marketing and communication is doing free headshot day Wednesday october 2nd and Thursday October 3rd.

    Hillis Promoted to UPD Captain

    University Police Department recently promoted Lt. Mark Hillis to a Captain rank. Capt. Hillis joined the University Police Department in 2013 as a patrolman and currently has 34 years of law enforcement experience. Capt. Hillis oversees the department’s POST certifications, officer trainings, and the Safe Bar campaign.

    Captain Hillis is eager to step into his new role for the betterment of campus and his department.

A native of McMinnville, Tennessee, Noah is a Nursing major with aspirations of becoming a trauma nurse (TCRN) in an emergency department.
