    University Police Officers complete Crisis Intervention Team training

    Police officers from the University Police Department recently completed Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) training. This training equips officers with the tools and resources to respond more safely and compassionately to individuals with serious mental illnesses in crisis. CIT provides officers with alternatives to arrest and incarceration when they encounter people facing mental health issues. The officers who attended the training include Chief Fred Nichols, Lt. Taylor King, Sgt. Jeff Bulakowski, Officer Hannah Beaty, Officer Jeremiah Lewis, and Officer Ben Winfree. Additional officers will attend CIT training as new sessions become available.

    University Police Officers complete STOP Domestic Violence training

    Three officers from the University Police Department have recently completed specialized training in domestic violence investigations. This training aims to enhance law enforcement’s response to and prosecution of domestic violence cases. The curriculum covered a wide range of topics, including assessing lethality, legal reviews, victim interviewing techniques, sexual assault, dual arrest, strangulation cases, coordinated community responses, courtroom testimony, and witness intimidation, among others. Captain Mark Hillis, Officer Hannah Beaty, and Officer Anthony Sherrell participated in the training.

  • Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness Trauma Treatment Certification

    Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness Trauma Treatment Certification

    The Center for Counseling and Mental Health Wellness clinical team recently completed the requirements for Trauma Treatment Provider. The clinical team had to satisfy program requirements that included training in trauma recovery and passing the certification exam. The CCMHW clinical team is committed to continuing education and training that enhance the skills and knowledge of student mental health and development.   • Parking and Transportation Services Implementing License Plate Recognition (LPR)

    We are excited to share that Parking and Transportation Services is implementing License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance parking services on campus.     Meet Dominic Fosco, our June Student Affairs Student Spotlight!

    Dominic is a first-semester master’s student in Civil Engineering at Tennessee Tech and is now in his fourth year at the university. With a strong passion for structural engineering, he has been a dedicated member of the Steel Bridge Team since his undergraduate years. Dominic served as the team’s Design Lead for one year and has led as Captain for the past two. Dominic credits the team’s success to their hard work, unity, and shared commitment to excellence. One of his favorite things about Tech is the unwavering support for student organizations.

  • FY25 Project Request Deadlines Announced

    FY25 Project Request Deadlines Announced

    To help us complete and bill all current projects by the end of the fiscal year, the Office of Communications & Marketing asks that all requests for Creative Services, Photo & Video Services, and Web Services be submitted by June 13, 2025, if they need to be billed in FY25.

    For Printing Services projects that need to be billed in FY25, please submit your requests no later than June 23, 2025.

    Farewell Reception for Dr. Kumar Yelamarthi

    Join us as we say goodbye and send our best wishes to Dr. Kumar Yelamarthi, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. We will celebrate his contributions and new journey at a farewell reception on June 18 at 3 PM in the AIEB lobby.

    Dr. Yelamarthi is leaving Tennessee Tech to become the Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Let’s come together to thank him and wish him well in this exciting next chapter!

    2025 CITL Summer Book Club: Teaching with AI

    Join the CITL for our summer book club as we read through and explore Teaching with AI: A Practical Guide to a New Era of Human Learning by José Antonio Bowen and C. Edward Watson. We will meet virtually every Tuesday at 11 AM starting June 5th to discuss that week’s chapters and share insights. Books are provided. Register here and contact the CITL with questions. If you or your department have received any audit or review notices or reports from external agencies during FY25 that have not already been forwarded to Internal Audit, please send them to internalaudit@tntech.edu at this time. As you receive reports in the future, please send them to the same address.
