    Fourth annual “I Heart Tech Students” fundraising initiative begins today

    Tennessee Tech’s 4th annual “I Heart Tech Students” fundraising initiative begins today! Each year, the Golden Eagle community comes together to support programs that put students first. Previous “I Heart Tech Students” initiatives have transformed student resources like the Food Pantry and Veterans Center. In 2019, faculty and staff came together during “I Heart Tech Students” to establish the Eagle Assistance Grant, an emergency fund for students facing tough times.

    We know what you’re thinking: “I’m a student. I can’t afford to make a gift.” If now is not the right time for you to make a gift, we understand. But if you have a few dollars to spare to help a fellow student, we hope you will. Any gift of any amount to any area on campus counts in the “I Heart Tech Students” fundraising total.

    Can a small gift really make a big impact? It can! Gifts of $5, $10, or $25 can provide groceries for a student facing food insecurity.

    Visit 1915.tntech.edu to see all of the causes featured this year. You can choose a cause that is meaningful to you. Be sure to mark that you’re a student on the online giving form. We’d like to send you a little something for participating!

    Fourth annual “I Heart Tech Students” fundraising initiative begins today

    Tennessee Tech’s 4th annual “I Heart Tech Students” fundraising initiative begins today! Each year, the Golden Eagle community comes together to support programs that put students first, and gifts from faculty and staff make a huge impact! Thanks to the funds raised in previous “I Heart Tech Students” initiatives, the Food Pantry expanded their hours and purchased a refrigerator to provide healthy options for students who face food insecurity. The Veterans Center purchased new computers for student veterans. And faculty and staff were instrumental in establishing the Eagle Assistance Grant which provides emergency funds for students in need. When the March 2020 tornado devastated Cookeville, and when COVID-19 caused many students to lose their jobs, your support made a difference.

    Any gift of any amount made online at 1915.tntech.edu between Feb. 14 and Mar. 28 counts in the “I Heart Tech Students” total. Check out the causes featured this year, and make a gift to an area on campus that is meaningful to you. Visit 1915.tntech.edu to learn more.

    Love Potion Pre-sale Fundraiser Jan 31-Feb 7

    Are you looking for an easy and convenient Valentine’s gift or a sweet way to let someone know you’re thinking about them? How about a tube of Love Potion #9? The Student Members of the American Chemical Society will be pre-selling Love Potions (plastic test tubes filled with M&Ms) through our Square Store (https://smacsttu.square.site/) from Jan 31 – Feb 7. We will deliver them to your Tech mailbox (for students) or office (for faculty and staff) on Feb 11. Individual love potions are $2 or you can buy 3 for $5.     Holiday Benefit Concert – Donation Drive

    Tonight at 7:30pm, the Tennessee Tech School of Music is partnering with the Upper Cumberland Foster Closet for an evening of holiday music and donations. These donations will help support foster children in the Putnam County area. Suggested donations include:

    Boys and Girls Winter Clothes
    Socks

    Twin Bed Sheets, Crib Sheets
    Baby Blankets (especially girls)
    Shampoo/Conditioner
    Body Wash, Baby Wash
    Toothbrushes
    Lunchboxes
    Cash Donations

    Deadline to submit cause for I Heart Tech Students is Dec. 10

    If you would like to submit a cause for the 2022 I Heart Tech Students fundraising initiative, the deadline is Dec. 10. You must submit a photo and/or video that illustrates the need for donor support along with a short paragraph. For six weeks next spring, we will highlight your cause to Tech alumni and friends and encourage donations to your area.  Submit all information via the following form:  I Heart Tech Students Project Submission (Page 1 of 2) (office.com)

    Campus-Wide Dodgeball Tournament

    Do you like to play dodgeball? Do you want to support a great cause while doing it? Register for the campus-wide dodgeball fundraiser today!

    This year countless individuals were devastated by the Waverly, TN flood. The Association of IT Professionals wants to give back and sponsor several of the 900 Angel Tree kids from this area. Proceeds will go towards sponsoring as many children as possible.

    When: December 9th, starts at 4 pm
    Where: Academic Wellness Center (Old Fit)
    Who: Teams of 4
    Why: Support Waverly, TN Angel Tree
    Cost: $24 per team

    Nov. 30 is Giving Tuesday, an international day of giving to support causes that have a positive impact on your community. What has a bigger impact on Cookeville than Tennessee Tech?  If you want to participate in Giving Tuesday, we hope you’ll make a gift to Tech. This year’s Giving Tuesday will focus on the Football Operations Center and Tech’s desire to continue the proud 100-year tradition of its football program. After all, so many Tech traditions are centered around football: Homecoming, the Pep Truck, Shinny-Ninny, Purple Pride, Awesome Eagle and Wings Up.

    Our goal is to raise $50,000 in just 24 hours! Every gift makes a difference.   • NAACP Food and Clothing Drive

    The TTU student chapter of the NAACP will host a food and clothing drive for a local shelter. Please bring any items for donation to the RUC main floor lobby. The NAACP will collect donated items on the following dates and times:

    Tuesday, Nov. 16th between 11 a.m. and noon

    Wednesday, Nov. 17th from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.

    Thursday, Nov. 18th between 11 a.m. and noon.

    Lambda GSA is holding a Bake Sale on November 15th in the lobby of the RUC starting at 11AM. Money from the bake sale will go to help fund our Diversity Prom in the Spring, as well as other Lambda Events and future merchandise. Please stop by to support us and get some sweet treats!

    Pied for the Pantry: Change of Venue

    This Thursday from 11 AM – 1 PM IN THE LOBBY of the Roaden University Center, the staff of New Hall North and Jobe/Murphy as well as the Campus Police Department will host a “Pied for the Pantry” event, raising money for the campus food pantry.  For $1 you can step up and choose which TN Tech Employee you would like to pie in the face for charity.

    Volunteering to be pied are:

      • University Police, Officer Adkisson
      • Maddux/McCord, MS Cooper/Pinkerton and New Hall South Hall Directors, Natalya, Tim and Kashmoney
      • Long time pantry supporters, Mark Wilson and Matt Dexter, Athletics Director and Assistant Director
