This Thursday from 11 AM – 1 PM on the backyard of the Roaden University Center, the staff of New Hall North and Jobe/Murphy as well as the Campus Police Department will host a “Pied for the Pantry” event, raising money for the campus food pantry.  For $1 you can step up and choose which TN Tech Employee you would like to pie in the face for charity.

• We have long time pantry supporter, Mark Wilson, Athletics Director volunteering to be pied.
• We have Maddux/McCord and New Hall South Hall Directors, Natalya and Kashmoney volunteering to be pied.
• We have multiple university police volunteering to be pied.
• We have Auxiliaries Director, Kerri Demeri (parking, dining, etc.) volunteering to be pied.

And so many more…

Your donations and support allow the campus food pantry to provide nutritious options for those dealing with some level of food insecurity.  THANK YOU!!!

Decades of friendship and a love for Golden Eagle Athletics have inspired two Tennessee Tech alumni to partner in leading fundraising efforts for a Football Operations Center on campus.

Ottis Phillips and M. Dianne Murphy grew up in Cookeville, attended the same church and were in the same high school class. They also experienced firsthand what it’s like to play for the Golden Eagles: Phillips was a member of Tech’s football team and Murphy played basketball, volleyball and tennis. Now, they are focused on helping the next generation of student-athletes, using the knowledge and experience they gained at Tech and in their careers to establish a new facility for Tech football.

The Student Members of the American Chemical Society will be making a periodic table of cupcakes to sell for National Chemistry Week. The fundraiser will be at the LSC covered portico outside of Einstein’s on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will also have other baked good for sale. We accept cash, card, and Venmo. All proceeds go toward travel expenses attending the ACS national meeting to present research. Come out and buy a cupcake of your favorite element and help us celebrate NCW! This Tuesday 9/14, Texas Roadhouse in Cookeville is hosting a fundraiser for the TTU Spirit Squad. From 3 p.m. – 10 p.m. anyone that shows the attached flyer (digital or paper copy) when they pay will donate 10% of their food purchase to our squad. During dead-hour on Tuesday, the Spirit Squad will be on campus handing out these flyers to students and faculty. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out!

Omega Phi Alpha is hosting a donation drive for the residents of Dickson and Humphreys counties after the tragic flooding on August 21, 2021. We are hoping to gain the support of all students and faculty for this fundraiser. Donation boxes have been set up in the RUC, Bell Hall, and The New Fitness Center. All proceeds go directly to the residents effected.

Scott Muir, `77 speech and theatre, always knew he wanted to be a librarian and fell in love with libraries long before he enrolled at Tennessee Tech.  Thanks to a generous estate gift, Muir’s love for libraries and theatre will ensure future generations of Tech students have access to the areas that were so important to Muir during his time at Tech.

Muir said he was inspired by Henry “Hank” Rowan, an American engineer and philanthropist who, in the early 90s, made a $100 million gift to Glassboro State University, a tiny school in South Jersey. Rowan’s act of extraordinary generosity launched one of the greatest explosions in educational philanthropy, and his story has been featured in numerous articles including Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History podcast titled “My Little Hundred Million.” Glassboro State was renamed Rowan University in Rowan’s honor.

Muir held seven progressively-responsible library positions throughout his career and retired from Rowan University as the associate provost responsible for three Rowan University libraries.

The Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) invite you to attend our spirit night at Pelican’s SnoBalls (522 E 10th St) from 4 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug 24. Please mention ACS when you order so a portion of your purchase will be donated to our chapter. Funds raised will go toward supporting campus and community events hosted by the chapter.
