    Celebrate the work of student artist Alexus Quiroz with us, this semester’s winner of the WMC Exhibition Award, at the opening of her exhibition: Mind, Soul and Body

    Since 2022, the WMC awards the Women’s Center Exhibition Awards to student artists in the College of Fine Arts’ BFA Juried Art Exhibition whose artwork reflects the WMC’s mission.     Redzone Awareness on the Quad!

    The Red Zone Awareness Event will be held on Thursday, September 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the North Quad. This will be a collaborative initiative aimed at raising awareness about sexual assault during the critical early weeks of the semester—often referred to as the “Red Zone.” Organized by the Center for Addiction Prevention & Support with partners Power of Putnam, Tennessee Tech Health Services, and the Peer Empowerment Program (PEP), the event offers students and faculty an opportunity to learn more about the Red Zone and collect resources.

    Family Weekend Faculty Teaching Series

    In a collaboration between New Student and Family Programs and Academic Affairs, three faculty participated in a Faculty Teaching Series on Friday evening as part of Tech’s Family Weekend. Steve Thomas (English), Nicole Henniger (Counseling & Psychology), and Brad Cohen (Biology) presented lectures on Ethiopian film studies, conformity in social psychology, and disturbance in influencing duck migration patterns, respectively. Participating parents enjoyed engaging with faculty in the classroom setting!

    Swing Dance Sock Hop

    No partner or experience required!! This Thursday, September 18th, join the Swing Dance Club in a night of dancing for their first event of the semester! The event will be held in the dance studio (the basement) of the Memorial Gym. A beginner lesson will occur at 7:30pm, so get ready to learn this fun and easy historical dance! Dressing up in your favorite Sock Hop attire is encouraged but not required! Can’t wait to see you there!
