    The Professional Readiness Leadership Center will host an Internship Seminar on Wednesday, Sept. 21, in Johnson Hall 220 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This seminar is designed for students who have just finished an internship, and we will discuss how to elevate your experience and where to go next.     Alpha Kappa Psi Success Story Night!

    Alpha Kappa Psi will be hosting a Success Story Night on Sept. 14 at 6:15 PM in Johnson 411! Guests Cheyenne Deweese and Sharon Davis will be talking about their experiences in Alpha Kappa Psi and how being a brother of the fraternity aided them in their professional careers.

    Cheyenne is the hall director for MS Cooper/Pinkerton Hall and graduated from the Zeta Chi chapter at UT Martin! Sharon is a Client Relationship Consultant II at the US Bank in Cookeville and graduated from the Zeta Upsilon chapter here at Tennessee Tech!

    Center Stage presents Ada Limón, U.S. Poet Laureate

    Tennessee Tech welcomes Ada Limón, the 24th U.S. Poet Laureate, for two events on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. Members of our campus community are invited to “Making Something Out of Nothing: Finding Helpful Ways to Conjure a Poem,” a craft talk taking place from 11:00 a.m. – noon in Henderson Hall 204B.  No writing experience is necessary. Ms. Limón will read from her new book, The Hurting Kind, at the Backdoor Playhouse starting at 7:00 p.m. in a free event open to everyone. These opportunities are sponsored by Center Stage and the TTU English Department.

    Ada Limón is the author of six books of poetry, including The Carrying, which won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Poetry. She grew up in Sonoma, California and now lives in Lexington, Kentucky where she writes, teaches remotely, and hosts the critically-acclaimed poetry podcast, The Slowdown.
