    Tech women’s basketball to host SIUE Thursday in nationally televised game

    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team will get an opportunity to showcase its talents on a national stage on Thursday as the Golden Eagles will entertain SIUE in a nationally televised contest on ESPNU.

    Tipoff for the women’s game is scheduled for 4 p.m. The Tech men will face SIUE in the second game of the doubleheader at approximately 6 p.m.

    Thursday’s doubleheader will also be a Gold Rush game with fans wearing gold will receive admission for $5, while T-shirts will be given out while supplies last. There will be the opportunity to win an assortment of prizes, including Roku streaming devices, smart TVs, VISA gift cards and a mini-fridge. Students are admitted free to all Tech sporting events.

    Tech men’s basketball contest versus Morehead State postponed

    The Tennessee Tech men’s basketball team’s Ohio Valley Conference game against Morehead State, originally scheduled for Thursday, has been postponed due to Tennessee Tech COVID-19 protocols.

    Consistent with OVC basketball rescheduling policy, the contest will be rescheduled for the first available Monday makeup window. The contest will now be held on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. CT.

    The Tech men will now open its OVC season on Saturday, Jan. 8 with a home contest at the Hooper Eblen Center against Eastern Illinois at 3:00 p.m.

    The Golden Eagle women’s contest against Morehead State is still set for its scheduled date and time of Thursday, Jan. 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the Eblen Center.

    Tech women’s game vs. Belmont postponed, men move up to 6 p.m. Thursday

    COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech calendar for Thursday will shift as the Golden Eagle women’s game against Belmont has been postponed as the Bruins continue to go through COVID protocol.

    As a result, the Tech men’s game will move up from an originally-scheduled 8 p.m. scheduled tipoff to 6 p.m.

    The makeup date between the Tech women and Belmont at the Eblen Center is still to be determined.

    “As we have done all season so far, we will make the most of opportunity to make sure our student-athletes get a chance to represent Tech and play the sport they love,” said Tech director of athletics Mark Wilson. “At the same time, all of us must also take the necessary precautions to protect our student-athletes, staffs and fans.”

    Volleyball In Need of Line Judges for Spring 2021

    Tech Volleyball is looking for line judges for the 2021 spring season. Volleyball/Line Judging experience is preferred, but not necessary. Training will be required and provided by the volleyball staff in late January/early February at an informal scrimmage. Line judges will receive compensation on a per match basis. Matches will tentatively be on Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings.

    Human Ecology Friday Cafe Fall 2020

    Friday Café is the hands-on learning experience for foods and nutrition students in Human Ecology. This fall semester students will utilize vegetables grown at Shipley Farm. Dates will be Sept 18, Sept 25, Oct 2, and Oct 9. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, Friday Café will serve only four meals this semester. All meals will be a carryout option only. There will be three time pick-up options each week (11:45 am, 12:00 pm, and 12:15 pm) with a limit of 10 meals for each time slot. Meals will be available for pickup on the front porch of Oakley Hall. Meal purchase is made through Marketplace by making prepayment by noon on Wednesday. Meal cost will be $8. Menus are posted on Marketplace and on the Human Ecology Friday Café webpage. Contact the Human Ecology office at 372-3157 with any questions.

    Tennessee Tech University students can take advantage of some reduced rates at the Golden Eagle Golf Club for the 2020 golf season.

    Weekday rates for TTU students include $23 for 18 holes and $15 for nine holes. Tech student rates for weekends stand at $25 for 18 holes and $16 for nine holes.

    All prices include a golf cart. All 18-hole rounds earn a stamp on GEGC’s frequent player card as well. When a golfer receives five stamps for playing five, 18-hole rounds, their sixth round is free.

    Memberships are also available on an annual basis, beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31.
