  • 2023 Holiday Payroll Deadlines

    2023 Holiday Payroll Deadlines
    Please observe the following deadlines during the upcoming holiday season.

    November Deadlines
    • The deadline for receipt of any payroll changes normally due by the 15th is 4:30 P.M. on Friday, November 10th
    • November Student/Temp payroll is on Friday, November 10th
    • November monthly payroll is on Thursday, November 30th

    December Deadlines
    • Approval of Student/Temp payroll in Time Clock Plus is due by 12:00 P.M. on Friday, December 1st
    • November leave reports are due by Friday, December 1st (Approvals due Tuesday, December 5th)
    • Extra Pay timesheets are due by 4:30 PM on Tuesday, December 5th
    • December Student and Temp payroll is on Tuesday, December 12th
    • All other payroll items normally due on the 15th are due on Friday, December 8th
    • December TCP approvals need to be approved through Thursday, December 21st. The remaining can be approved after returning from break.
    • December monthly payroll is on Thursday, December 21st
    • Any checks not picked up will be mailed at noon on December 21st

    January Deadlines
    • Final December approval of Student/Temp payroll in Time Clock Plus is due by 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
    • December leave reports are due by Tuesday, January 2nd (Approvals due Friday, January 5th)

  • Budget Office – November Trainings Scheduled

    November budget trainings are now scheduled for anyone who is interested in attending. Please click here to register for a virtual session. Recorded trainings are also available on our homepage in addition to the monthly training dates, please click here to view our recorded sessions. Please note the General Budget Training is the only required training needed for signature authority on budget revisions, and is not available as a recorded session.     Help Select Tennessee Tech’s Next QEP Topic

    The QEP Topic Selection Committee is asking the university community to weigh in on potential topics for the next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). QEP initiatives are institution-wide plans to improve an area of student learning. Over the last 5 years, the university’s QEP has supported students in developing capacities in creative inquiry including information literacy, problem discovery, critical thinking, and communication. Help us decide the focus for our next 5-year plan by completing the survey below.

  • Flower Fund Enrollment 2023

    All faculty, administrative, and clerical and support staff at Tech are members of this fund, but the decision to contribute to the fund is completely voluntary. The guidelines for the fund can be found here.

    For those who wish to contribute, the rate has been slightly adjusted to a $15 annual donation. You can enroll HERE any time before Friday, Oct. 13. Your contribution will be automatically deducted from the October payroll.

    If you enrolled in the Flower and Gift Fund in previous years, the rate will increase to $15 and you do not need to take any action to continue your support, however all current contributors have the option to disenroll using the same above link if they choose.

  • October Revised Budget Revision Due Date

    All budget revisions needed to clean up indexes/accounts before October Revised Budget should be submitted for final review as follows: For administrative and academic units that require final signatures from the President’s Office or the Provost’s Office, please have your budget revisions submitted to these offices by Wednesday, September 20th in order for both offices to have time to review before the deadline to the Budget Office. The deadline for these budget revisions and all other budget revisions to be submitted to the Budget Office is Monday, September 25th.

  • 2023 Payroll Deductions-Parking Permit

    Just as a reminder, parking permits for employees will be deducted from pay monthly from September through May. This change was made in response to the feedback of the Staff Advisory Committee. Parking deductions are being applied over nine months to help spread out the cost for employees, provide greater predictability, and avoid larger lump sum deductions.

    Tech launches new podcast: “College Town Talk”

    Tennessee Tech has launched a new podcast in partnership with the Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors Bureau titled “College Town Talk.” Each week, hosts Jonathan Frank and Shan Stout introduce listeners to Tech faculty, staff and students – as well as successful Tech alumni, local business owners and civic leaders – who are making a difference and living Wings Up in their community. 

    Episodes 1 and 2 are now available, featuring interviews with Cookeville Mayor Laurin Wheaton, Tech Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Rob Owens, Tech Director of Athletics Mark Wilson, and Soul Craft Coffee owner Anna Dunn. Listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Pandora, Google Podcasts and other podcast platforms. Episodes can also be streamed at www.tntech.edu/collegetowntalk.

This forum presents a wonderful opportunity for our community to engage with Dr. Liu and gain valuable insights into his vision and plans for our research and economic development at Tech.
