  • Graduate Support Assistant Position in the Crawford Alumni Center

    The Crawford Alumni Center is seeking a Graduate Support Assistant to assist with printed and digital engagement and social media. There are opportunities in the position to write articles and emails for alumni and donors or make graphics and edit videos for social media. No matter what your concentration is, there will be opportunities to gain new skills and great experience for your resume. Interviews will begin May 18, 2020 and continue until the position is filled.

  • Faculty, Student, and Staff Awards Presented by the College of Education

    Faculty, Student, and Staff Awards Presented by the College of Education

    Annually the College of Education recognizes outstanding members of their faculty, students, and staff during a reception usually scheduled for National Teacher Appreciation Day. This year’s awards have been presented virtually.

    Faculty award categories and recipients: Teaching/Jeremy Blair, Asst. Prof.; Research/Andrea Arce-Trigatti, Inst.; Service/Jennifer Meadows, Asst. Prof.; Team Player/Christy Killman, Chair of Exercise Science.

    Graduate and undergraduate students were recognized in these categories, respectively: Leadership/Lindsey Braisted and Kayla Hill; Service/Ashley Gilbert and Laura Scarborough; Professionalism/Jordan Killmon and Staci Dildine; Go-Getter/Jake Warwick and Barrett Streeter.

    Charles Craig received the Outstanding Advisor Award and Kathy Falkner in Curriculum & Instruction, the Outstanding Staff Award.

  • Director of Institutional Assessment, Research and Effectiveness Zoom Interview

    The final four candidates for the Director of Institutional Assessment, Research, and Effectiveness (IARE) will have full-day Zoom interviews with campus on May 8th, 11th and 12th.   • Undergraduate Graduation Application Deadline for Fall 2020 is May 1

    The deadline to apply for undergraduate graduation for Fall 2020 is May 1. Students apply online using their Eagle Online account and must have earned 80 credit hours. Students should review their Degree Works audit located in Eagle Online; check to make sure the catalog term, major and minor are correct before applying.   • Tennessee Education Association Invites Member Applications

    The Tennessee Education Association advocates for K-12 and higher education public school educators.  If you are not a member, you can join now through the NEA Early Enrollment Program. It began April 1.
    Go to the website, www.nea360.org to join or download a form at http://www.teateachers.org/sites/default/files/TEA%20Membership%20Form%202020_web%20only.pdf
    Complete it and either email it to jmcquail@tntech.edu  at danderson@tnea.org or drop it in the mail to TEA, Attn-Membership, 801 Second Ave. North, Nashville, TN 37201.

    They will need to complete the paper form if they wish to pay dues either by Payroll Deduction or Check/Money Order.

    If this person needs to join for the remainder of this membership year with full benefits, including legal services, they would need to complete the form I am attaching using the following dues:

    NEA – $81.67
    TEA – $123.54

    These are prorated dues as of the month of April.

    If this person has never been a member before, they will qualify for the New Teacher Rebate program.

  • CITL Here to Assist Faculty!

    The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) continues to provide support to faculty and departments during the campus transition to delivery of online and alternative delivery of courses. The CITL can advise you on course redesign and development and how to better leverage technology and other educational tools to engage and retain students. The Center can also provide ideas on alternative assessment of student learning outcomes within an online learning environment. The CITL staff, including your College’s or School’s dedicated Online Instructional Designer, are available Monday through Friday 8-4:30 through consultations by phone (931) 372-6950, via iLearn Help Email, or through Virtual Consultations. You can also Email the Center directly as we continuously monitor the CITL Email and respond promptly throughout the day. The CITL also provides frequent updates to the COVID-19 Faculty FAQs related to instruction in an online learning environment.

    The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) announces its last Tech Teaches workshop for the spring semester. Dr. Sandi Smith-Andrews will provide a final workshop in her Online Teaching Series on Thursday, April 9th from 3:00-4:30 pm via Zoom. The focus of this workshop is on Assessments and Rubrics.
