Looking for an intense challenge? Register for the 2023 Putnam Math Competition!

Do you like math puzzles? Are you looking for a challenge of epic proportions? The 2023 Putnam Mathematical Competition is calling.

The preeminent math competition for college students in North America, the Putnam Competition takes place on the first Saturday in December, and is given here on the Tennessee Tech campus. It consists of two 3-hour sessions, comprising a dozen supremely challenging problems, covering everything from algebra, geometry and calculus to number theory, linear algebra and methods of inductive proofs.

These are no ordinary test questions, but a series of fiendishly constructed puzzles that call upon both your math knowledge and your problem-solving skills. Top performers receive scholarships, and all participants leave with the knowledge that they have scaled the Mount Everest of math.

There is no cost to participate, so if you’d like to learn more, contact Mark Rogers in the Tennessee Tech Mathematics Department (at mcrogers@tntech.edu). Fame and glory await you!
