WEST, the Writing Excellence Studio at Tech, is here to help! On Tuesday, 9/17, we will host a dead hour workshop on the writing process and revision strategies. We will talk about organization, how to see your work with new eyes, and how to revise your papers like a professional writer. The workshop will be in Henderson Hall 304B. No registration is required, and all are welcome! And if you can’t make the workshop, schedule a a one-on-one session at our website. We look forward to working with you!

Environmental Studies & Earth Sciences Students Study Abroad in Scotland
“Once in a lifetime..I wouldn’t trade my experiences on this trip for anything” said one of the eleven students that joined Dr. Samantha Allen, Professor David Hajdik and Philip Roberson from the School of Environmental Studies & Earth Sciences to Scotland to explore sustainability and aid in service projects. The group visited key areas around Scotland and also partnered with locals, Chrissie Gillies and Tom Lusink from the Isle of Raasay Carbon Neutral Islands Project to aid in ongoing efforts to use remote sensing and GIS to map the Isle of Raasay and the invasive spread of Rhododendron.

Nursing Faculty to Provide Pediatric Critical Care Training in Beliz
This week Prof. Melissa Geist and Assoc. Prof. Jennifer Mabry of Tech’s Whitson-Hester School of Nursing will return to Belize in Central America.
May’s health outreach initiative focuses on Pediatric Critical Care Training for area health professionals (American Heart Association Certified). The trip follows their Dec. ‘23 Adult Critical Care program.
“I appreciate the efforts of Bobby Taylor in University Advancement and our generous donor who made this and December’s outreach trip possible,” said Geist. “The Cookeville-based company, STAT CPR is continuing to provide staff and equipment for delivering the training.”
